Seven months later, following a sudden cerebral aneurysm, Allan and his wife Kim honoured her wish. Through organ and tissue donation, seven lives were saved and forever changed.Out of unimaginable grief came Zaidee's Rainbow Foundation, a mission dedicated to helping families have the conversations most of us never think we'll need, while advocating for an opt-out organ donation system that Allan believes could give many more Australians the chance to receive the gift of life.This conversation was deeply personal for me. Having received a donor cornea transplant myself, I know my own life has been touched by the generosity of a family I'll never meet.
