Why Did He DISCARD or USE Me (After He Said I Love You)? In today’s society, with so many people wanting instant gratification, relationships are often tossed aside if one person doesn’t get what they want right away. While we don’t want to force a relationship on someone who doesn’t want to be with us, it happens all too frequently, simply because midlife men are scared to make an investment in a relationship. Some men might want to be a player if they settled down at too young an age and they feel like they “missed out”. Some men might have gotten burned in a divorce and are hesitant (or unable) to trust another woman. And some men just don’t know what they want or get scared when they start to develop feelings for someone. In no way am I excusing this behavior. Men and women alike should discover what they want out of life – and a relationship – before they get back into the dating pool. But these instances make it all the more important to have conversations early on, before the relationship gets physical or too deep.
