Why Is Gratitude the Path to Divine Grace?| நன்றி உணர்வே இறையருளின் திறவுகோலா?

from Santhosam Podcast: Guiding Light of Spiritual Wisdom · host Santhosam

In the 23rd Velvi Discourse, Gurumahan reveals how gratitude transforms the heart, dissolves resentment, and awakens the One Divine Presence within all.Has God ever given you anything? Of course He has. He gave you a healthy body. He gave you a loving mother. He gave you a caring father. He gave you brothers and sisters. He gave you a good wife or a good husband. He gave you wonderful children. He gave you an education. Yet you still say, "God has given me nothing."Have you ever thanked your mother? Tell me, whom do you thank? Can you thank the mother who carried you in her womb for ten months, endured pain to give you birth, and nourished you with her own blood transformed into milk?Do you have the heart to thank her today? Often, when we think of our mother, we first remember her shortcomings. But what is needed is gratitude. Whatever mistakes she may have made, she is the one who gave you this body. Simply say, "Mother, thank you." The moment you sincerely say those words, the hatred and resentment you carried towards her begin to disappear. Have you ever thanked your father? He may have been imperfect, but your very life came through him. He is the source of this life. Therefore, thank him. Have you ever thanked your teacher? This is an age when people criticize teachers instead of honouring them. Yet, in some way, every teacher has taught you something. At the very least, they taught you that two plus two is four, not five. Therefore, offer your gratitude to your teachers and Gurus. Mother, Father, Guru. But how do you thank God? Have you ever seen Him? The scriptures declare that the senses cannot perceive Him. Then how can you thank the One you cannot see? Imagine a child getting off a school bus when a speeding car rushes toward him. A stranger risks his own life, saves the child, and quietly walks away. The mother brings the child home in shock and says, "Someone saved our son today. I don't even know who he was." Wouldn't the father say, "We must somehow thank the person who saved our child"? Even without knowing who that person is, you thank him and pray that he and his family may be blessed. You have never seen him before, yet your heart overflows with gratitude. Likewise, why should you wait to see the Divine before expressing your gratitude? Simply remember that wondrous Power which creates, protects, transforms, and showers grace upon all. That remembrance alone is enough. How should you remember the Divine? Remember with a heart melted in love. Remember with devotion. Think of the Almighty with deep sincerity, and whatever you seek, He will grant. That is why it is said, "Ask, and it shall be given." Where does this Supreme Power exist? It exists beyond the physical body, the subtle body, and the intellectual body. Beyond them It shines as Divine Light. Beyond that It exists as Primordial Sound. Beyond even that It abides as the Eternal Origin, sustaining all creation. Everything that exists is That One alone. Just as a single seed sprouts and grows into a mighty tree, the One Primordial Reality has unfolded into the entire Universe. Because It has evolved into everything, It fills everything. There is no place where It is absent. It pervades all without exception. There is only One Reality.Send us Fan MailLet Wisdom Flourish!Let Peace Prevail!
