Why Is The Civil Rights Commission Looking At The KCMOPD And The Jackson County Prosecutor's Office? The Missouri Advisory Committee to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights is examining police and community interactions, and the extent to which disparities in the use of force may persist on the basis of race or color. The Commission held hearings on Thursday August 20, 2015, at the Bruce R. Watkins Center, where they recorded verbal testimony from community members regarding policing in Kansas City, Missouri.
