Why Land Drainage Still Matters, Gearbox Swaps & The Bio Oil Heater Comes To Life

from P.X. Farms Podcast · host P.X. Farms

It’s another full-on week behind the scenes at P.X. Farms as we juggle essential maintenance, upgrades and long-term planning across the business. We start by looking at why land drainage is still one of the most important investments on a modern farm, especially with increasingly unpredictable weather. Back in the yard, progress continues inside the boardroom as the new flooring goes down, while better systems are put in place for parts ordering to keep the workshop running efficiently. Our new bio oil boiler is now providing heat across the site, the slug pellet machine continues to test our patience, and the Hilux gets some long-overdue interior repairs. There’s also a big mechanical moment as a new gearbox arrives for the Fendt 942, the plough gets a fresh coat of paint, and preparations begin for fertiliser season with tankers heading out on hire.We also retrofit air brakes to the Fendt 1167, tackle a few workshop mysteries, and keep things honest with some classic farm humour along the way.As always, this is a real look at the decisions, repairs and upgrades that keep a large arable farm moving forward. Let us know in the comments what jobs you’d like us to dive deeper into next. For those interested in our new merchandise: https://pxfarms.myshopify.com/P.X.
