Why Lindsay Clancy Has Never Told Police Anything

from True Crime Today | Daily True Crime News & Interviews · host Real Story Media

In three and a half years, Lindsay Clancy has not given a statement to law enforcement. Not an interview, not a confession, not a denial. She was gravely injured the night her three children died and was hospitalized immediately, and prosecutors have spent the years since trying to reach her state of mind through everyone but her.A Plymouth County jury has to decide what she understood on January 24, 2023.Clancy, a former nurse, has pleaded not guilty to three counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of Cora, five, Dawson, three, and eight-month-old Callan at the family's Duxbury, Massachusetts home. Defense attorney Kevin Reddington argues she was misdiagnosed and overmedicated and that postpartum psychosis drove what happened. She is paralyzed from the waist down and has been held at Tewksbury State Hospital.Prosecutors have their own framing. Fighting to keep other mothers off the stand, prosecutor Jennifer Sprague pointed to women who experienced postpartum depression and psychosis and did not harm their children — women who shut themselves in a room, women who drove away. Judge William Sullivan kept those witnesses out. The comparison behind the argument did not go anywhere.Tony Brueski reads the mailbag on a case that has split this audience harder than any in recent memory, including messages from mothers who never told anyone what was going through their heads.Sullivan is seating eighteen jurors rather than the usual sixteen. Patrick Clancy, who publicly forgave his wife, is on the defense witness list. The jury will be handed medication lists, search histories, and timelines. A conviction means life without parole. An acquittal by reason of insanity means a hospital and periodic review. Three children are gone under either verdict.A jury will read a mind that has never spoken.END_LINKS:Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video?
