Why you might WANT to be a crappy meditater.

Send us Fan MailIf you think you're a crappy meditator in today's episode I tell you why that's probably a good thing. There is so much information available today on mediation and mindfulness but since its roots are foreign  we don't fully understand their context. That lack of understanding mixed with the piece meal surplus availability of so many types of meditation has created confusion and choice paralysis for many of us in the west. In many western minds meditation has gotten more complicated than it needs to be. The bottom line for meditation and mindfulness is awareness. If you are able to become aware that your nose is itchy or your back hurts while you are meditating well then... That is meditation.  If you are aware of your own experiences you are technically being mindful. So all those times your mind wandered or raced during meditation that you took as evidence of your crappiness, is actually confirmation that you are a modern human who successfully meditated. The human mind was meant to wander and explore and invent! It just causes us trouble sometimes if we let it wander too much or too far. Meditation is literally just a practice to teach us to keep an eye and a leash on this wonderful mind of ours. If you're interested in Mindfulness---- I have partnered with Decolonize Healthcare to create a 21 day meditation exploration designed just for you after you listen to this episode.  Just go to www.decolonizehealthcare.com/challenges and click on the 21 day meditation exploration. You get one week each of 3 kinds of meditation each with increasing complexity. Give it a try and join a community of other people exploring these concepts together.into/outro music by wutaboi. Support the showMusic by WutaboiEmail us at [email protected] Buy me a coffee at www.buymeacoffee.com/owlmedicine Social MediaFacebook: www.facebook.com/owlcmedicineInstagram: www.instagram.com/owlcmedicine My Websiteswww.owlchrysalismedicine.comwww.decolonizehealthcare.comwww.rethinkingbroken.com#rethinkingbroken #CPTSD#chronicstressadapted #ComplexPTSD#childhoodtrauma #Authorpodcast #bestsellingauthor #queerauthor#adhd #dyslexia #dyscalclia #Queer #queerpodcast #queerhost#adultswithadhd #veteran #therapist #nonfictionauthor #traumaauthor#undiagnisedadhd  #childhoodtrauma #trauma #lifeaftertrauma  #PTSD
