Dit jaar kregen zelfstandige ondernemers zonder personeel opnieuw de kans om zich in de spotlight te zetten en hun vakmanschap te laten zien. Naast de hoofdprijs voor 'Freelancer of the Year' werden er eveneens andere prijzen uitgereikt, waaronder 'Beste Starter van 2025' en de publieksprijs van de FOTY Awards.Na meerdere selectierondes koos een vakbekwame jury welke kandidaten doorgingen als finalisten en uiteindelijk wie de winnaar werd van zowel de 'Freelancer of the Year 2025 Award' als de titel 'Beste Starter'. De publieksprijs lag volledig in handen van het Nederlandse publiek: deze ging naar de finalist die de meeste stemmen weet te verzamelen. Bram Nous van Bram Nous Digital Design won de prijs van 'Beste Starter', schrijver Klaas Driebergen won de 'Publieksprijs' en de hoofdprijs 'Freelancer of the Year 2024' ging naar Liesbeth Oldeman van De Vastgoedstyling Opleiding.De uitreiking van de FOTY Awards was live te volgen via New Business Radio. Deze speciale uitzending werd gepresenteerd door Roland Tameling en Ron Lemmens en is terug te luisteren via alle bekende podcastkanalen.
