Wildfire Rages Near Reno As Flames Threaten Homes In Cold Springs Area

Reno, Nevada – Reno Fire Department crews are assisting on the Bug Fire near the Cold Springs and Stead area, with two brush trucks, five fire engines and two battalion chiefs assigned to the response. A total of 31 personnel are involved. Nighttime footage shows a long, active fire line burning across distant hills, producing a heavy red-orange glow and thick smoke. Wooden fences and sagebrush fill the foreground as the fire burns along the ridge. Residential structures come into view, with red and blue emergency lights visible nearby as crews work to protect them. Reserve engines have been backfilled to keep all local fire stations staffed while firefighters continue working on the fire.
