from eCom Experts · host WMR.FM

Will Googles newest updates affect your holiday sales? The busiest shopping season of the year starts in less than 40 days. WOW! Where did the time go? To be honest, I have no clue. What I do know, is that Google has been making a LOT of changes lately and you need to take action now. Below are some of the questions we have been getting and I will be discussing this further. What are the changes and updates Google has been doing?Hummingbird - Announced on September 26thGoogle basically rewrote the search algorithm. This new search impacted 90 percent of the search queries. Their focus is on the intent of the user and not necessarily the keywords they are using. Penguin 2.1 - October 4th Googles Spam-Filtering is at it again. Some sites took a big hit while others are recovering from a previous update in a big way. Google Encrypting Search - No more keywords for youLast year about this time, Google began encrypting searches for logged in users. This year... all searches are encrypted. This means the actual search terms that people used to find your site, are no longer available in your analytics. Instead, you will see Not Provided.
