Wine and Humor Pair Well with Mammograms

from Uncorked with Funny Wine Girl · host Jeannine Luby

Have you ever felt worried about your health? Yeah, it's a pretty relatable feeling, right? Well as you know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and I wanted to talk a bit about that. I encourage you to scroll back to October of 2021 to listen to episode 8 of Season 2 to hear "She Wears Her Pink In Her Cheeks" if you have not listened to this episode featuring the smart, funny and brave Nanci Oehrlein. She shared how she handled her breast cancer diagnosis and her husband's wait for a heart transplant that was happening at the same time. She has an amazing ability to use humor in a way that may not be appreciated by all, but I absolutely adore! She finds humor and light in the darkest moments. In this week's episode, I also share my recent concern over an abnormal mammogram--how I processed that and what I encourage you to do if and when a friend comes to you to share their health concerns. Finally, this episode closes out with a snippet from my stand-up comedy about how mammograms would be a much better experience if they were paired with wine! If you would like to show support for this podcast through a monetary investment please visit my Buy Me A Coffee page; or show support by sharing this podcast on social media; tell a friend or foe, or anyone you know; or write a review. As I always say, I appreciate you from the bottom of my heart and the bottom of my wine glass. #funnywinegirljeannine #breastcancerawareness
