Long known as the founding father of Upstate NY’s wine trade, Dr. Konstantin Frank came to The USA from Odessa, Ukraine in 1951. He settled in The Finger Lakes Region of NY, finding it reminiscent of the growing conditions in Northern Europe. Today The Frank Family celebrates the 60th Anniversary of its acclaimed vineyard. David Kohl recalls a visit to Dr. Frank’s winery during a tour of The Finger Lakes and shares a tasting of 2019 Pinot Gris, a grape quite prevalent in The Alsace region of Europe.
