A three time cancer survivor Michael lost his left leg to bone cancer at age nine. He refused to let this stop his love of skiing and went to his first Paralympic Games aged just 14. The rest, as they say, is history. With 6 paralympic gold medals, Michael Milton Michael has won half of Australia’s total winter paralympic gold medals. He holds the world record for a skier with a disability, reaching 213.65 km/h - on one leg!Michael retired from competitive sport after competing at the Beijing Paralympic Games in 2008 - becoming one of four Paralympic athletes to compete at both Summer and Winter Games.
