Enhanced Games Update and Parenting Elite Athletes

This week on the podcast Cate and Bronte have a little chuckle at the absolute flop that was the Enhanced Games. Bronte reckons she could jump in the pool now, busted ACL and all and still swim faster than the 4th place getter in the women’s 100m freestyle. The main topic this week is around parenting elite athletes. It’s rare to have one Olympian in a family - let alone two. So what did Mr and Mrs Campbell do to instill excellence, dedication and perseverance in their children? The answer might surprise you.If you like the show, be sure to send it to a friend or family member. Thanks for listening!Recommendations from the Episode:Book: The Girl with All the Gifts by M.R CareyArticle: Aryna Sabalenka Doesn’t Let Up in VogueProduced at The Podcast Boss podcast studio in Brisbane

    Dating as an elite athlete.

Welcome back to another episode of Campbells and Co.It’s a rough old dating world out there - but it can be even more tricky to date as an elite athlete. There is the sports bubble, the restrictive lifestyle, the all-encompassing nature of pursuing an Olympic dream, traveling for months at a time and not having a ‘normal’ work schedule. Cate and Bronte share their own experiences with dating and bust a few myths along the way.If you enjoyed this episode, share it with a friend (or partner). We hope you enjoy this episode of Campbells & Co.Recommendations from the Episode:Podcast: The Birth KeepersHoliday: Berry in NSW is a perfect nature getaway to reconnect with nature.Produced at The Podcast Boss podcast studio in Brisbane

An honest chat about Sibling Rivalry and Bronte addresses the Elephant in the Room.

Welcome back to another episode of Campbells and Co.If there is one question we get asked most often, it’s how do you manage sibling rivalry? Over the years we have given many different answers to this question. There is the polite ‘it was always a shared dream, so it’s great to do it together’. There is the  almost true ‘if I can’t win, I at least want my sister to win’. While neither of these answers are wrong, they do not fully explore and elaborate on the complexities of competing with and against your sister on the world’s biggest stage for over a decade.Cate and Bronte share their tips for any siblings or parents struggling with this - because while competing at an Olympic Games against your sister is rare, the notion of sibling rivalry is commonplace in many households around Australia (and the world). If you enjoyed this episode, share it with your sibling (or maybe parent). We hope you enjoy this episode of Campbells & Co.Recommendations from the Episode:Podcast: No Stupid Questions, episode 73: Is it Okay to Engage in Social LoafingTV Show: Your Friends and Neighbours on Apple TVProduced at The Podcast Boss podcast studio in Brisbane

What drives performance? Technology or psychology?

Welcome back to another episode of Campbells and Co.This episode Cate and Bronte chat about the marathon world record. Kenyan Sebastian Sawe crossed the London marathon finish line in a staggering 1:59.30 - that’s an average running speed of 21km/h. .However, that was not the only extraordinary feat that race. Ethiopia’s Yomif Kejelcha was only 11 second behind Sawe, running 1:59.41 in his London marathon debut. After the race, Sebastian Sawe was pictured holding up his shoes - which caused controversy when they were first released as critics claim it gave runners too much of a boost. It raises the question, with not one but two men breaking the two hour barrier for the first time in an official race, was it the shoe technology that led to this feat? Or was the 2 hour marathon barrier a psychological barrier that once crossed, opens the door for others to follow?Let us know, we’d love to hear your thoughts. We hope you enjoy this episode of Campbells & Co.Recommendations from the Episode:Read: The Correspondent by Virginia EvansRead: Acid for Children by Flea from Red Hot Chili PeppersProduced at The Podcast Boss podcast studio in Brisbane

It’s Winter Olympics time! AKA it’s time for the most terrifying, anxiety inducing two weeks of TV you will ever see. Whether is watching someone plunge down a mountain at 140km per hour, launching themselves either off a cliff or down an icy wall pretending to be a ‘half pipe’ or gliding and twirling across the ice with blades strapped to their feet, there is no denying that there is something a bit nuts about winter sports athletes. Cate and Bronte unpack some of the biggest moments of the Milano 2026 Winter Olympic Games. Australia is currently sitting 11th on the medal table - ahead of countries like Canada. We have 3 gold medalists, Cooper Woods, Josie Baff and Jakara Anthony. A silver for Scotty James and a bronze for Matt Graham. This has been our most successful Australian Winter Olympics team in History . And we unpack some of the major international headlines, King Klaebo from Norway who picked up his 9th gold medal - 4th from these Games. Lindsey Vonn - was she courageous or selfish? And THAT post race interview from biathlete Sturla Laegried. So many stories to discuss.
