And today we have a bit of a meditation, a sort of meditation meets affirmation meets just sort of like chill out moment. I don’t know about you, but for me things have been. Bonkers. Busy things have been somehow so, so busy. I don’t know how I managed to fill all the time. I don’t know how. I had a full-time job and also did a bunch of stuff like I feel like I’d never have enough hours in the day. As a result of that, I have begun a daily, maybe every other daily practice of taking just a few [00:01:00] seconds to sit quietly. And focus on the moment and space that I’m in. This is sort of akin to a gratitude practice. It might seem kind of similar. , It’s like gratitude meets, grounding, meets just like a big, deep breath. Pretty much so. If you are listening to this while you are driving, I recommend you wait to do the exercise until you are not driving. , But if you are, you know, out on a bus or sitting on your couch or, or as a passenger, , you are welcome to follow along. , Otherwise go ahead and wait until you can be at a place where you can close your eyes, basically, , and sit comfortably. Okay, once you are seated comfortably, that could be crisscross, could be on a chair, could be sitting like a goblin on the [00:02:00] floor. Could be in bed, doesn’t matter. Doesn’t matter at all. Just somewhere comfy. Once you’re somewhere comfortable, go ahead and close your eyes. And like with many other meditations or breath practices, notice the places in your body where you feel like you might be holding tension. So relax your fingers, relax your shoulders down, away from your ears and back. Soften the space between your teeth, un clench your jaw, soften the space between your brows, unfurrow it. Relax your face, and then from the very bottom of your belly, take a big breath in. We’re gonna hold it at the top. Big breath in. Hold [00:03:00] it for just a moment, and then exhale. Just let it go. Nothing fancy. Just a big breath out. We’re gonna do that two more times. Big breath in. Yeah. Big breath out. One more big breath in and let it out. Amazing. With your eyes closed, a little more centered on the space now that you’ve landed and relaxed. Notice the sensation of what you are sitting on. Is it soft? Is it hard? Is it cold? Notice any fabrics against your skin, maybe your pants or a blanket. Maybe the air. [00:04:00] Notice any smells. Notice any sounds you might hear and without like trying to tell a story about them, wondering what they are or what could have made it. Just notice any sounds you hear and then tell yourself, I am here. I am here. And then say, I am in my body, whether that’s out loud or in your own mind, say, I am in my body and then I am a part of a greater whole.[00:05:00] I am a part of a greater whole. I am a being in its entirety. I am a being in its entirety. And then I want you to think about. What has happened so far today that led you to this moment? Again, without trying to tell any stories about whether it was a good thing or a bad thing, or a hard thing or an easy thing, just notice the things that brought you here. I had breakfast. I had coffee. I drove to work. I drove home. I held my child. I petted my cat. I walked my dog. [00:06:00] And whenever you find yourself spinning off into stories about your thoughts or feelings, think back and say, I am here. I am in my body. And then think about. Something in your life just today. You don’t have to think about your whole life or what’s to come or the world at large, just something in your life today that you are grateful for or that you found helpful or useful, or that brought you joy. If you start to lose focus, remember I am here. I am in my body,[00:07:00] and after you found your moment of gratitude, I want you to think about something that maybe wasn’t so helpful or wasn’t so great. That you want to release and let go of find that thing that is occupying your thoughts in a way that is not constructive or helpful, or is maybe even a little harmful to your peace of mind and release that thing here. I am here. I am in my body. I release that which does not serve my peace and my peace of mind.[00:08:00] And then. This final piece is very challenging for me and maybe very challenging for others. Everyone’s relationship with their body is very different, but as you sit grounded and focused, think about something about your body that is not necessarily its appearance. That supports you and that you are grateful for. That could be. Today I was able to get out of bed without feeling creaky, or today I lifted up my very fat cat and he didn’t [00:09:00] threaten to throw my back out. Or I looked at my hands and they looked like my grandmother’s or something. Something that brings you closer to your body. Again, this is not necessarily about appearance. It’s certainly not about size. It’s just about finding a place of connection with your physical body, and if you start to tell little stories to yourself again, if you spiral off attributing good or bad. Come back to the simple statement. I am here I am in my body. Once you have found something, [00:10:00] some point of connection. I invite you to bring one hand to your belly and one hand to your heart, or maybe you can bring your hands to your tummy or the tops of your thighs, or maybe if you’re laying down, you lay them both on your sternum, a point of friendly connection and touch. A point of kindness, kind, physical contact, and wherever that is, breathe into that space. One big breath in and a big breath out. Uh, you’re welcome to sit in this meditation, this exercise for as long as you’d like. [00:11:00] But when you’re ready, just begin to softly waken up your body, maybe shimmy your shoulders, or roll out your wrists. Again, check in with your jaw and your forehead. Are you clenching or tightening or furrowing? And then. Allow yourself to set this exercise down, you’re welcome to pick it up again whenever you need to. Whenever you’re feeling disconnected. I especially recommend it at times when you’re really frazzled or feel like you haven’t had any time for yourself. Carve out this like eight to 10 minutes, and it could be in the shower even. Wherever it is, take this little bit of time for you and reconnect to where you are and the moment you are in. [00:12:00] I love you all very much. Have a beautiful day.
