Unfortunately, however, Rick's mother passed away last November, and it brought pause and time for rumination. A gentle start to 2026 allowed him to start work on new music and slowly get back into performing live as the year progresses, and that brings us to the new album... "Your Skyline Correspondent" sees DFHF channel all his emotions into his music in new and unfamiliar ways. The focus on melody is stronger than ever and provides a language of its own as each track unfurls. Don't be fooled by the grey skyline on the cover. This is an album that shines bright. A colourful cascade of keys, pads and luminous soundscapes that are pieced together effortlessly over crystalline percussion and radiant bass. There are, of course, reflections on grief and loss, but the overarching theme is of love, memories, acceptance and optimism. The juxtaposed emotions in the creative process bring a new layer of depth to the signature DFHF sound.
