WL//WH Premiere: JËAN FIXX - "Virtual Body Language" [DISCTRL] WL//WH is pleased to premiere the entrancing, metaphysical and atmospheric techno ride of "Virtual Body Language" taken from the 4-track EP, "CIRCA" created by A Coruña, Galicia based, Spanish musician and producer Jëan Fixx (@jean-fixx) via fellow Galician imprint DISCTRL (@disctrl) “Virtual Body Language” delves into the logic of virtual representation and its ability to evoke forms that lead us to other worlds and other bodies. ----------------------------------------------------------- The Latin-derived preposition CIRCA is often used in scientific bibliography, historical documents, or genealogies to pinpoint an event’s timeframe, estimating when it may have occurred in human history. With this title, Jëan Fixx’s new work aims to transport us to an indeterminate time where the relationship between humans and technology is so close that the virtual and real worlds can no longer be distinguished. Captured by the magnetic abstraction of techno and its relentless beat, the 25 minutes of this EP take us to a mental universe, with deep bass lines structured within reverberating industrial at- mospheres, interspersed with melodic passages that hint at a more organic passion, born from an immense and unrestrained desire for expression and understanding. Only the power of words draws our attention to specific issues, as in “Humans,” which challenges us to question the limits of humanity and its ability for self-management. In “The Truth,” the lyrics introduce the mystery of something that is being hidden from the public by those in power, while “Virtual Body Language” delves into the logic of virtual representation and its ability to evoke forms that lead us to other worlds and other bodies. It is “CIRCA,” which evokes through its title something seeking specificity, that remains without lyrics, leaving us with its repeated pauses—spaces for the listener to fill with content as they wish.
