PURE FUCKING WILL POWER!!!!!! An EP centered around a hard jacking Electronic Body Music track that has been a staple in Memory Clap Acid’s live show for a few years now finally sees the light of day on OMERTA RECORDS. The EP is fleshed out by a couple of live hardware, ambient textures, brooding techno, & mutant acid traxx. Then rounded out by remixes of the title track by Datura Inoxia and Ruksby. Memory Clap Acid is the project of Aldo Giovanni De La Cruz. A Mexican-American Electronic Music Artist & DJ originally from Inglewood California but now residing in the agricultural hub that is the Central Valley. Mr. Acid was exposed to House & Techno for the 1st time in the late 90’s while attending a rave at Oakland’s infamous 85th & Baldwin. That night he witnessed DJ Dan & DJ Bone on 3 turntables. That inspired him to get turntables & his 1st synthesizer. That love of synthesizers would accidentally find him cutting his teeth playing in post-hardcore bands in the early 2000’s. He would then go on to start the Bay Area experimental electronic & indie sleeze label Pish Posh of North America with then bandmate Patric Fallon. They would go on to do a string of releases for artist & bands History Invades, Casy & Brian, Triangles, Up Mine Sunshine, Lazor Sword, Ghost On Tapes, & All Teeth & Knuckles among many more. The label focused on East Bay “house party artist” in the beginning but would later find the artist on the label regularly playing venues like, 222 Hyde, Arrow Bar, Rickshaw Stop, & The Mezzanine. Eventually the label would dissolve due to Aldo Giovanni’s substance abuse. Musically he went silent for many years. That is until the villains of Detroit Sludge Marshall Applewhite & The Friend found his new project on SoundCloud. They exclaimed!!!! “You make Sludge!!!” “I had no idea what they were talking about. Apparently the slower tempo Acid music I was making was called Sludge?!?!? They reached out to me on social media. Joel Dunn aka Mr. Applewhite sent me a batch of his music. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing!!! It was similar to what I was making but way more advanced. Light years ahead even!!! I was hooked!!! Joel then invited me to do a track on his new label JUNTED. I did a track for him and the rest is history. Those dudes egged me on to keep making music. So I did. Music is my therapy. It helps me with my mental health & sobriety believe it or not. A sober dude making music for people to take drugs too.
