根据《中国出生缺陷防治报告(2012)》统计，我国出生缺陷总发生率约为5.6%。“卵巢功能自然衰减，这是一个生理现象，任何人都改变不了的”“当女性大于35岁以后，男性大于40岁以后，双方结合的家庭生育子代出生缺陷的风险是明显超过适龄生育的年龄段……”2月6日，中华医学会生殖医学分会主任委员、重庆市妇幼保健院生殖医学中心负责人黄国宁教授在接受记者采访时表示，“在条件允许的情况下，希望广大妇女适龄生育，减少出生缺陷发生。”
