Women are Essential in Industrial

In celebration of Women’s History Month and International Women’s day, we’re talking about women's increased role in a heavily male-dominated industry. Rebekah Fisher from CRG Automation is interviewed by MFG Tribe’s own Nancy Bell to discuss her leadership experience and career highlights.Rebekah is one of the leading actors in CRG’s partnership with the DoD to decommission Post-WWII chemical warheads safely and swiftly by 2023. With a custom-designed automated facility, they devised a method to disarm and safely dispose of these warheads before the deadline in 2023. As a female in a male space, Rebekah brings skills suited to her role, mainly listening to a client to discover the best solution. With open coordination, her team can better assess and solve their clients' problems in more unique and efficient ways than before.With the newer generation entering the workforce, a bridge is being created between the older and younger workers in manufacturing, finding answers to industrial quandaries. Women help to serve as that bridge, and there has been a wider acceptance in both young and older men. The fresh perspective that millennials bring is changing the game unlike ever before.Women have the social advantage of coming in with a smile and bringing confidence to a situation. Knowing how to read a situation, when to back off, and when to have your voice heard is also essential.
