Women Stand Up when The System Fails Them
from Uncorked with Funny Wine Girl · host Jeannine Luby
As I celebrate five years of incredible conversations with fabulous women on this show, I'm eager to deliver more valuable content and experiences to my audience. One such event that I am so heartened to co-host with the Women in Philanthropy of the Scranton Area Community Foundation is a film screening on April 13 in Scranton. Thanks to my partnership with Women in Philanthropy, we will co-host a screening of Loud Enough--Surviving Justice, a documentary about one young woman's fight or justice after a sexual assault, followed by a conversation with the film's director and Sabrina Hannon from WRC. The event being held at the Scranton Area Community Foundation, at 612 Jefferson Ave. in Scranton is free to attend but registration is appreciated here.In anticipation of Monday night's film screening, this week's episode of the podcast features an edited version of the conversation I had in October with Hilary Klotz Steinman, the director of Loud Enough--Surviving Justice, former prosecutor and founder of Finding the Right Julie Germann, and former police officer turned trainer & consultant Justin Boardman who were both involved in the documentary. I'm sharing what I consider to be some of the highlights of our conversation about how victims are treated by law enforcement and the justice system and what Julie and Justin are doing to change that for the better through their education on the effects of trauma. Give this conversation a listen and I hope to see you on Monday, April 13 in Scranton. If you are interested in finding out how you can have your own screening of the documentary Loud Enough Surviving Justice, visit Women Make Movies. A big "thank you" goes out to my podcast sponsors Reinvented Threads with Gabby Lynn and Healthy Lifestyle Management with Lisa Rigau for their generosity and support of this podcast.
