After the morning flight and a metric crap ton of results around college sports on Sunday, here’s what you need to know and start your week - JUST. THE. SCORES. We begin with the women:In women’s championship action, #8 Penn State captured the Atlantic Hockey title with a 4-1 win over Mercyhurst, securing an NCAA auto-bid and a quarterfinal matchup against St. Lawrence. #3 Cornell dominated #5 Colgate 5-1 to claim the ECAC crown and the national No. 3 seed, awaiting the winner of the Sacred Heart-Minnesota-Duluth game. #13 Boston University edged Northeastern 3-2 in overtime to win Hockey East and will open the NCAA tournament against Clarkson. Sacred Heart took the NEWHA title with a 4-2 win over LIU and will face Minnesota-Duluth in the opening round. In the WCHA final, #1 Wisconsin edged #4 Minnesota 4-3, claiming the nation’s top seed and awaiting the winner of Clarkson versus Boston University.In Saturday’s men’s action, #10 Boston University handled Vermont 6-1 in Hockey East, setting up a matchup between Vermont and UMass in the opening round. #5 Maine and #16 UMass battled to a 2-2 tie, with Maine taking the shootout win. #1 Boston College blanked Merrimack 6-0, sending Merrimack to face Northeastern. New Hampshire topped #17 UMass Lowell 4-2, setting up a rematch in the opening round, while #6 Providence edged Northeastern 3-2.In the NCHC, #7 Denver clipped #20 Colorado College 4-3, securing third place and a home quarterfinal against CC. Minnesota-Duluth edged St. Cloud State 3-2, finishing seventh and heading to Arizona State. Omaha rolled over #18 North Dakota 7-3, claiming fourth place and home-ice advantage against UND. #4 Western Michigan secured its quarterfinal pairing with St. Cloud State by defeating Miami 5-2.AHA quarterfinals saw #20 Holy Cross tie its series 1-1 with a 3-2 win over American International. Air Force evened their series with Sacred Heart, winning 3-2 in double overtime. Bentley completed a 2-0 sweep of Canisius with a 2-0 victory, while Niagara forced a decisive game with a 4-3 win over Army West Point.In CCHA action, Bemidji State stayed alive by edging Augustana 4-3 to tie their series. Bowling Green completed its sweep over Michigan Tech with a 4-0 win. #14 Minnesota State closed out its series with a tight 3-2 win over Lake Superior State. St. Thomas advanced by defeating Ferris State 4-1, setting up a CCHA semifinal against Bowling Green.In the Big Ten, #9 Ohio State forced a third game by edging Wisconsin 3-2 in overtime. #15 Penn State advanced with a 5-2 win over #11 Michigan, taking the series 2-0. #3 Minnesota evened its series with Notre Dame 4-2.On Sunday, #20 Holy Cross advanced by clinching the series 2-1 over American International with a 4-3 win. Sacred Heart followed suit, winning 4-1 over Air Force to advance and set up a semifinal against Bentley. Army West Point outlasted Niagara 4-3 in overtime to win their series and will face Holy Cross.In the CCHA, Bemidji State emerged victorious with a 3-2 overtime win over Augustana, securing the series 2-1 and a semifinal matchup at Minnesota State.In the Big Ten, #9 Ohio State sealed its series with a second straight 3-2 win over Wisconsin and will host Penn State in the semifinals.
