Jess has been sober since 21st June 2004. Having grown up in abject poverty in the New York projects under the most trying of circumstances, she found herself working in the White House following a colourful (if challenging) adolescence. For Jess, alcohol and drugs provided a release from the myriad traumas of her childhood - before her behaviour became so erratic in her early twenties she was compelled to stop.
