    Wonderfully Sober With Emily

Like many young Londoners, Emily partied hard throughout her 20s, during which time alcohol and drugs free-flowed. When her circle of friends moved on and settled down, she was left behind, plunging into a void of self-doubt and uncertainty about what the future held. Her solution? Have children. But becoming a mum of two didn't curtail her drinking, inevitably leading to a life-changing reckoning. This is a frank, reflective, insightful and inspiring conversation about what it is to be slave to alcohol, and what it is to break free from its grip. One relapse aside, which she discusses, Emily has been sober since December 2022. She works for The Living Room, a charity supporting those recovering from addiction, and can be found on Instagram at Stepping On The Sober Train and The Connection Couch. Wonderfully Sober With Sober Dave

Dave Wilson, known as Sober Dave, is on a mission to help people reframe their relationship with alcohol. After years of escalating drinking, he made the decision to get sober in January 2019 — a journey marked by self-doubt, struggle, and eventually, real change. What started as honest posts about that experience grew into a thriving community, as his story resonated with others facing the same battle. Dave's message is simple: sobriety is achievable, and no one has to walk the path alone. Today, he continues to share his journey and support others, through coaching, community, and unfiltered honesty about what recovery really looks like.Nina's Wonderfully Sober Instagram Hosted on Acast. Wonderfully Sober With Anna

Nina's friend Anna has been sober since August 2024. She got a taste for alcohol in her 20s while living in New York, as her career in the theatre and movie business took off. Hobnobbing is part and parcel of the industry, and invariably takes place over a fancy dinner and several glasses of fine wine. By she returned to London, got married and had children, drinking was a regular occurrence at home, too. But even when it began seriously impacting her mental and physical health, not to mention her relationship , Anna would still find herself cracking open a bottle, night after night after night ...Nina's Wonderfully Sober Instagram Hosted on Acast. Wonderfully Sober With Jess

Jess has been sober since 21st June 2004. Having grown up in abject poverty in the New York projects under the most trying of circumstances, she found herself working in the White House following a colourful (if challenging) adolescence. For Jess, alcohol and drugs provided a release from the myriad traumas of her childhood - before her behaviour became so erratic in her early twenties she was compelled to stop. Hers is a truly jaw-dropping story - raw, reflective and beautifully recounted.Nina's Wonderfully Sober Instagram Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

    Wonderfully Sober With Hattie

At time of recording, Hattie has been sober for over five years. A self-confessed party girl back in the day, she reached a point where drinking became an unwanted constant in her life, and managed to stop with the support of AA. Now an ambassador for Alcohol Change UK, she is campaigning for reform when it comes to the legislation of alcohol on delivery apps. Here she shares her story with Nina in the most candid of terms. Wonderfully Sober With Charlie

Charlie has been sober since January 1st 2025, which very closely corresponds to Nina's Day One. As such, they connected via the vibrant and welcoming sober community on social media, and have become confidants and kindred spirits. A married mum of two (3 & 11), she and her husband once stitched alcohol into the fabric of their lives, and wondered what the future - not to mention their relationship - would look like without it. And that was before he stopped drinking too! Turns out - pretty good. Charlie's really does have an infectious personality and inspiring outlook - and you can find out more about her journey hereNina's Wonderfully Sober Instagram Hosted on Acast. Host Nina has been sober since 4th January 2025. As she celebrates her 18 month anniversary we find her in reflective mood - and keen to share her story with you. Given The Wonderfully Sober Podcast is in its infancy, she thought a little context would be useful. Indeed, we've had countless listeners ask about Nina's background, and how she arrived at this very happy point in her life. And your wish is our command! Here she details the highs and lows of her journey into sobriety with the candour, generosity and warmth we've already become accustomed to in her interviews.Nina's Wonderfully Sober Instagram Hosted on Acast. Wonderfully Sober With Noreen

Noreen has been sober since August 2022. Hers is a remarkable tale. Now her mid-60s and a grandmother, this is not the first time she has stopped drinking for an extended period - having taken a 6+ year hiatus prior to (and for much of) the pandemic. Then, out of the blue, she had the urge to have a glass of wine, which quickly saw old habits return. Thankfully, in a moment of dark, drunken clarity, she found the strength to give up for a second time. Her husband, Chris, is confident she's cracked it for good - which we discover because he joins Nina for a lovely chat at the end too! Wonderfully Sober With Donna

Donna has been sober since July 2024. Host of the Smiling Gives You Wrinkles Podcast, on which Nina has guested, she is a Beauty Editor who lives in Florida with her husband and two sons - 21 and 15 - having emigrated from London. She was a relative latecomer to habitual drinking, but soon found it having a corrosive effect on her mental health and grew increasingly uncomfortable with its ever-presence. An incident at her 48th birthday - which had otherwise been the perfect day - prompted her to stop drinking for good, and thankfully she's not had a drop since (accidental sip of Margarita aside). Wonderfully Sober With Jennifer

Jennifer has been sober since 1st January 2026. She's our first international guest, joining us from Chicago after she and Nina connected on Instagram. As is so often the case, drinking crept up on Jennifer after she'd had her two boys, and became problematic without her really even realising. She talks beautifully about how her reliance on alcohol took hold, the profoundly negative effects it had on her wellbeing, and why she had to stop. Wonderfully Sober With Suze

On the very day we recorded this episode, Suze was celebrating 1,500 days sober. Though she's stopped counting, it felt written in the stars this would be the very moment she'd be sharing her story with Nina. Seduced by the 'Mummy Wine Culture', Suze attempted to stop drinking on countless occasions but never quite succeeded. Then she had a harrowing night of reckoning on a family holiday in Cornwall, recounted in heart-wrenching detail, which ultimately proved to be a significant turning point in her journey. After another major bump in the road, she finally did what she'd failed to do so many times before and became sober. Yet she didn't do it alone. And in a first for the podcast, our wonderfully sober guest's husband, Al, joins the discussion, providing a candid perspective on what it is to love someone debilitated by alcohol. You can find out more about Suze here, on her hugely (and quite rightly) popular Instagram page. Go on, give Suze a follow ...Nina's Wonderfully Sober Instagram Hosted on Acast. Wonderfully Sober With Harriet

Harriet has been sober since 1st January 2026. She is a married mother of three boys - who, like Nina, is sharing her relationship with alcohol and sobriety on Instagram in hugely candid, moving and funny ways. By her own admission, being brutally honest about her story is central to the choices Harriet has made, and that honesty is very much in evidence during this conversation. Thankfully, though, her husband is supportive enough to have risked life and limb by hiring a scooter in Thailand to ride for several hours to find the only place that stocks non-alcoholic beer in the country.Nina's Wonderfully Sober Instagram Hosted on Acast. Wonderfully Sober With Katie

Nina is joined by her dear friend Katie, who she met twenty ago in the world of work - and shared many a hedonistic night with back in the day. Katie stopped drinking over a decade ago, and, as you'll hear, is hugely grateful to Nina for helping her change course. From breaking into a swimming pool with stolen chicken pies, long, boozy lunches with clients and after-hours shots with junior staff - not to mention a chastening conversation with her boss - Katie shares her journey into sobriety in the most honest of terms. She now lives in LA with her husband and two children and runs a successful business.Nina's Wonderfully Sober Instagram Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
