"Won't you be my neighbor"
from Where We Meet Podcast · host Where We Meet
Mr. Rogers was beloved by so many and for good reason. He was ‘salt of the earth’. He was and encouraged others to be kind, to be a helper, to care about others, & to always be one’s best self. One statement he made has stuck in my mind. It talked about who he considered to be hero.I have often thought a hero is someone fierce, brave, strong…but he stated something more ‘doable’ for ANYONE. But Fred Rogers had something else in mind:“We live in a world in which we need to share responsibility. It's easy to say "It's not my child, not my community, not my world, not my problem." Then there are those who see the need and respond. I consider those people my heroes.”― Fred RogersI have to agree, they are all OUR children, it is OUR community(ies), it is OUR world— so it is OUR problem.Let’s be good neighbors, let’s build one another up. Let’s be like Mr. Rogers. Get full access to Where We Meet at wherewemeetseries.substack.com/subscribe
