    AI

Will AI end up as humanity’s ultimate sidekick, or are we fast-tracking our way to becoming optional? 🤖✨The debate around artificial intelligence usually splits down two very different paths:* The Optimist View: AI handles climate modeling, cures rare diseases, eliminates burnout work, and elevates human potential to levels we’ve never seen before.* The Existential View: As AI reaches true autonomy, it develops self-preservation instincts, out-paces human control, and views humanity’s unpredictability as a threat or inefficiency.Where do you stand? Are we building a brighter future together, or setting the stage for our own replacement? Drop your thoughts below—let’s discuss! 👇 Get full access to Where We Meet at wherewemeetseries.substack.com/subscribe

    "Won't you be my neighbor"

Mr. Rogers was beloved by so many and for good reason. He was ‘salt of the earth’. He was and encouraged others to be kind, to be a helper, to care about others, & to always be one’s best self. One statement he made has stuck in my mind. It talked about who he considered to be hero.I have often thought a hero is someone fierce, brave, strong…but he stated something more ‘doable’ for ANYONE. But Fred Rogers had something else in mind:“We live in a world in which we need to share responsibility. It's easy to say "It's not my child, not my community, not my world, not my problem." Then there are those who see the need and respond. I consider those people my heroes.”― Fred RogersI have to agree, they are all OUR children, it is OUR community(ies), it is OUR world— so it is OUR problem.Let’s be good neighbors, let’s build one another up. Let’s be like Mr. Rogers. Get full access to Where We Meet at wherewemeetseries.substack.com/subscribe

Episode 1: "A Quiet Message, A Loud Life"

“The world is full of remarkable people and stories you might never expect… often waiting quietly in the most ordinary places—Where We Meet.”Sometimes the quietest message can come from the loudest places. And sometimes, the person reminding us to spread love… is the one behind the drums. What happens when a simple message quietly spreads through a city?In this episode of Where We Meet, we talk with local artist Brandon Thrift, the creator behind Sarasota’s beloved Spread Love Project. For years, Brandon placed the now-iconic artwork anonymously around town—allowing the message to speak louder than the artist behind it. Beyond the murals and stickers, Brandon is also an incredibly talented heavy metal drummer, performing with a touring band and channeling creativity through rhythm as much as paint. This conversation explores art, identity, music, and the unexpected ways a simple act can impact an entire community.Visit Brandon's art & music sites: https://artbybrandonthrift.com/https://www.coldsteelband.com/Thank you to State of the Arts Gallery: https://www.sarasotafineart.com/index.php Get full access to Where We Meet at wherewemeetseries.substack.com/subscribe
