So my return flight from Funnel Hacking Live had to have been the worst flight ever. Hey guys, if you're like me, you've always had a desire to do more. And deep inside, you've known there's a way and a possibility for you to achieve your dreams, the lifestyle and achieve the freedom you've always wanted. Because we have what it takes to get things done and learn from others and get the mindset to achieve the dreams we've always wanted.

Welcome to SB Warriors. Hey, what's up SB Warriors? Ball K here. So on the way back, all these flights are being delayed out of Tennessee.

And so we, or my plane, they're like, okay, hey, we're looking at the plane flights and we're going to go ahead and put you on what would have been an earlier flight, but that flight got delayed as well due to some thunderstorms and flash floods. So since that flight was delayed that actually I was taking an earlier flight, even though my flight would flight was delayed by like four hours. I'm like, alright, cool. Because if you don't take this flight, you're going to be stuck spending the night in Denver.

And I was like, I'm not doing that. Because I got stuff to do and I need to get home. So I get on, I'm getting ready to get on the flight and that flight from the time that they had previously delayed it was then delayed more. And I'm like, oh, great.

And then so I'm like, hey, hey guy, excuse me sir, you know, I'm talking nicely. And the guy's like, he doesn't care. He wasn't a total jerk, but he was very aloof and just like nonchalant. And I'm like, like you realize that these are people's like, you're affecting people and a lot of different things that it takes for you to get picked up.

And I have my wife has three kids. She's by herself. She's going to pick me up. And so now all of a sudden they're like, oh, you're getting home at 12 o'clock midnight, which I don't want to bring bringing out an eight month old baby at 12 o'clock at midnight just to pick me up.

So I'm trying to figure everything out. At least if I'll be picked up at at least land at midnight. And the guys like, well, there's like a 45 minute window. He's like, I would just go to San Francisco and get you in later.

I'm like, what originally I was supposed to come in at eight. I'm like, but I need to come in at eight. And he's like, I would just take the other one. So I'm like, well, it's a 45 minute window.

So I take the gamble, then it gets delayed even more. So then now there's no opportunity to catch the switching flight out of San Francisco to Los Angeles. So I'm like, OK, all right. OK, all right.

Hey, like no notification. Nobody talks to you. It was on all that was then upon me. I'm like, OK, excuse me.

I don't think I'm going to catch my flight. Would you agree with that? I don't know. I'm like, I remember I talked to you about anyway, the customer service was like, I was like, where's the empathy?

Where's the care? Where's any sort of resemblance that you actually act like you care? And since I wasn't getting that, I was like, you know what? I'm not going to fight this guy because normally I get all pissed and I get in his face.

What's your name is Badge was partially covered for a land purpose. And so I just talked to him nicely and got my flight switch, landed San Francisco, then I catch luckily enough the plane that we were leaving out of was the same plane taking me back to Los Angeles area. I was like, sweet, but when I land, I don't have a bag and make things worse. My keys are in my bag and I had a little pocket knife and I stuffed it in there and I'm actually somewhere back in my head.

I'm going, I hope I leave my keys at the hotel, which I don't think I did. And now it's been over 20, almost 24 hours and they're like, oh, your bag's still in Denver. I'm like, what happened to my bag being delivered in the morning? I'm like, I don't control it.

I'm going to let it go. This is the only thing I can do. Let it go. So then get this.

I decide to take a Uber. I'm like, oh, cool. My first Uber ever. Yep, that's right.

I enter the world of rideshare programming. And so I'm like, okay, cool. I'll take this Uber and I'll get home. I download the app once I land.

My battery's got about 19% battery. I'm like, no worries. So I make my black baggage claim and I'm waiting and then I'm like, hey, you know, I'm like, hey, you know what? Have you done Uber before?

And the baggage claim was really nice. She's like, yeah, I'm here. It's not working. It's not working.

I had another credit card. It's not working. My credit card is fine. It's not working.

And I'm like, why isn't this working? Like, why isn't this working? The price goes from 15 bucks to like 16 bucks. I'm like, what's going on?

And then I asked the police officer, hey, sir, are you able to give me a ride? It's only like eight minutes away. He's like, oh, sorry. I can't leave the base.

I'm like, oh, man. All right. So then next I go and try Uber driver. Hey, do you want to keep helping me out with this?

I was like, it says that I can't go through. He's like, where are you going? You going towards LA? And I was like, well, I'm not really going towards like, he's like, I just, he was mad.

He had just driven from LAX to the other airport. It was just, oh, in Ontario, 50 miles, about 50 miles and only made about 50 bucks. I think he gives half of that to Uber. And so he was pissed.

I was like, uh, he's like, just ping me cash and I'll do it. And I'm like, done. And I'm like, but I only have $100 below me. He's like, we'll go get some cash.

Don't worry. And so, and he has an accent. He doesn't, he doesn't sound like a, like he's from large margin or something. But he has an accent.

And so we're talking really, it's been a really nice guy. Just a little upset with the whole Uber process. We eventually get there. And I'm thinking this is the end.

My wife is just like, text me. When you get there, I'm a little tired. I'll let you in. I don't have any keys.

Remind you. I don't have any keys. I get there. Has to be about 1 a.m.

I'm first. I text right before we pull up. Hey, I'm here. No response.

Text again. I'm here. Get out of the car and I'm here in a response. Then I call a few times and I'm not standing outside the front door.

It has to be about anywhere from 39 to maybe 43 degrees. And I'm in wearing jeans and a jacket and maybe like a light sweater. And I'm starting to get cold. I'm like, oh man.

So I start texting some more. After about 15 minutes, you know what? I'm like, I'm ringing the doorbell. I don't care if I wake up the baby.

I don't care. I wake up everybody. I'm ringing the doorbell. I ring the doorbell five times.

No answer. I'm like, what the heck? I call my wife at least 20 times. No answer.

What the heck is going on? Right? Who wouldn't be pissed at that point? I was like, huh, what's the point?

I can't change it. I'm cold. That's all I care about. So I had to break into my own backyard, knock on the window, and then I finally, finally, finally get in.

So what does any of this have to do with business? Well, I think it goes up to living up to your customer's expectations because after I went through all that drama, if the initial teller had even considered, I understand he has other people, but if you would have just said, hey, I don't think you're going to make your flight. We should probably get your bags because bags switched to another airline or the other flight that you're probably going to need to take. If he had just said that, all that could have been avoided.

No. Is that his responsibility? No. But it does differentiate you from the marketplace by you able to recognize and foresee problems for your clients before they know they have them.

That to me is customer service. And I now see it like looking back on, oh, I learned a little something here. I haven't flown in like, I don't even know like 10 years. Once you have kids, I don't like flying.

I was like, I'm not flying. I'm not flying with my kids, man. I'm not flying. I don't want to be that guy with the screaming babies in the back.

So we've always been driving. Now I feel a little braver, but after being delayed on both directions, man. Because on the way in, I was like clinging on to hope I would get there in time. Other people had to sleep overnight and all this jazz.

But I think the biggest thing is when you're in business, you are serving somebody. And when you're serving somebody, it's okay to think about them and what they might need ahead of time. And then offer your service since that's what they're paying you to do. I mean, it's not asking too much.

You would think it'd be pretty simple. But for those who have an employee mindset who just look at, I'm just supposed to do the baseline minimum to get this, get my hours in and out and I'm done. And that's what the problem with a culture of just having a JOB. And I think if the business owner, the manager, whoever oversees people like that, and influences the culture where you work, that makes a difference.

And I believe every one of our businesses need that to fulfill a client not just on the physical space of what they need, but on the emotional side of letting them know your empathetic to their needs. You care about their situation. You care about them being your customer and you'll do whatever it takes to try to help them. Get to where they need to be.

Now, if they're a complete jerk client and they're not giving the opportunity to make something, make men's to something that's wrong, then that's not completely reasonable. But if they're trying to work with you, you should be trying as hard, if not harder. And so that's my big takeaway moment. And so you'd be surprised because now I don't want to fly united again.

And I bet you guys have customers that feel the same way about this, the way I'm talking about this right now. Hey SB Warriors, thanks for listening to today's podcast.
