After trauma, our nervous system is shot and it usually doesn't recognize that the danger isn't there anymore. We may still feel highly on edge, exhausted, disconnected, or easily overwhelmed because our bodies really don't have a clue on what else to do. In this episode of Life Reassembled, we explore what trauma does to our nervous system and how we can begin restoring ourselves through God's truth and how He made us to be able to so. We talk about the realistic ways to regulate our nervous system - by using forgiveness as a tool, and giving ourselves permission to breathe. Most importantly loving ourselves- without forcing ourselves into the calm we so desperately crave or pretending everything is fine.
