We’ve made it through 2023. It was a fantastic year for Professional Wrestling in general. This episode focuses on WWE in 2023. WWE in 2023: January Cody enters the 2023 Royal Rumble at #30. Cody Rhodes wins the 2023 Royal Rumble and earns a shot at Roman Reign at Wrestlemania 39. Also, Gunther gets made by entering at #2 in the Rumble, going all the way, and putting on a banger singles match with Cody before doing the job. February Sami Zayn rides his popularity to the main event of Elimination Chamber in Quebec, Canada. Unfortunately, he comes up short against the Tribal Chief. Brock Lesnar and Bobby Lashley finally collide in a ho-hum match-up. March through April: Wrestlemania Season WWE in 2023: New Undisputed Tag Champs! Sami and KO dethrone the Uso’s, ending their longest title reign, and becoming the NEW Undisputed Tag Team Champions. Roman Reigns puts Cody’s story on hold, retaining his titles and pissing everyone off. Not to mention a crazy Triple Threat Match between Drew, Gunther, and Sheamus. It was a great ‘Mania all around. May WWE in 2023: Bad Bunny at WWE Backlash WWE tears down Puerto Rico with Wrestlemania Backlash featuring Bad Bunny and the return of Carlito. June & July SummerSlam gave us Damian Priest and Iyo Sky winning their respective Money In The Bank matches. Jey pins Roman in a Bloodline Civil War match. August WWE in 2023: Why Jimmy?! Seriously though, I don’t get it. Jimmy turns on Jey, costing him the Universal Titles, and Iyo Sky cashes in her briefcase and becomes the NEW WWE Women’s Champion. September WWE in 2023: Bck and Trish put on a clinic! Payback gave us the incredible Cage Match between Becky Lynch and Trish Stratus, closing out a long-tail storyline that started way back around June. October Cody and Jey win tag titles from The Judgement Day, John Cena teams with LA Knight, and Carlito makes his official in-ring return. November Nothing of significance happened… …nothing at all Every month of 2023 Ryback said something weird.
