Yet another country music festival canceled | Music City Minute
from Music City Minute
It has not been a good year for new country music festivals. First, the inaugural KickOff Jam featuring Carrie Underwood and Garth Brooks was canceled. Then, what would have been the second annual Sugar Bowl Country Kick Off featuring Thomas Rhett and Eric Church was canceled. Now, another new multi-day fest has been canceled on short notice in Las Vegas. Giddy Up Music Festival was set to take place October 18 – 20 at Downtown Las Vegas Event Center. Headliners included Turnpike Troubadours, Megan Moroney and Lynyrd Skynyrd. The event would have been the first large-scale country festival in Sin City since the Route 91 Harvest tragedy. However, organizers sent out a press release saying they are unable to move forward as planned and ticket holders will be refunded through their point of purchase. I’m Sheena, and that’s your Music City Minute.
