Our culture and institutions have been overly focused on the masculine, and our approach to medicine is also reflective of this very imbalanced bias towards the masculine.The masculine approach is like this -- fix this precise problem for me, now, then we’re done. It’s compartmentalized, it has an end point, a goal. Success is the achievement of the goal (the symptom is gone).The feminine perspective understands that, in reality, we are constantly changing beings and our healing work is never really done. It is more of a holistic, process-oriented perspective. In reality, we need BOTH. It is this AND that, not this OR that.
