Yoga Nidra for Sleep
from Peaceful By Nature · host Sage Simpson
This is a guided Yoga Nidra meditation. Yoga Nidra is a wonderful practice that helps you relax deeply. This practice allows you to enter into a theta wave brain state, that open state of awareness between being awake and being asleep. In this open & allowing state your mind and body rest and rejuvenate. Yoga Nidra also incorporates setting an intention, which can take seed in this open and relaxed state with less resistance from your past conditioning. It has been said that 45 min of Yoga Nidra is equal to 3 hours of sleep. It can help reduce anxiety, calm your nervous system, and ease symptoms of PTSD. This practice is best practiced on your back, in a comfortable position, with a bolster under your knees, pillow or towel supporting your head and neck, an eye pillow gently covering your eyes, and a blanket that makes your body feel safe. You can listen to this guided meditation as part of your nightly practice, or as an independent meditation. Please let me know how you enjoy this practice, as well as any changes you see in your waking life after practicing a few days. As always, I welcome questions and feedback. Let me know if you have questions about intention setting or the practice of Yoga Nidra. I welcome suggestions for meditations for the podcast. If you would like a personalized meditation and recording to help you transform in a specific way (this may be related to health, habits, work or personal growth) please get in touch.
