योग्यतापरीक्षा

कस्मिंश्चित् राज्ये नूतनमन्त्रिणः चयनदायित्वं राजा वृद्धाय मन्त्रिणे दत्तवान् । निश्चिते दिने बहवः युवकाः अर्हतापरीक्षार्थं राजभवने उपस्थिताः अभवन् । वृद्धः मन्त्री पेयवितारकरूपेण, कृषकरूपेण च वेषं धृत्वा परीक्षाम् अकरोत् । तत्र एकः एव युवकः चषकसङ्ग्रहणे, पङ्कात् शकटस्य उन्नयने च साहाय्यम् अकरोत् । सः एव योग्यतमः इति विचिन्त्य तमेव नूतनमन्त्रित्वेन चितवान् मन्त्री ।(“केन्द्रीयसंस्कृतविश्वविद्यालयस्य अष्टादशीयोजनान्तर्गततया एतासां कथानां ध्वनिप्रक्षेपणं क्रियते”)In a certain kingdom, the king gave the responsibility of selecting a new minister to an old minister. On the decided day, many young men came to the king's palace to take the eligibility test. The old minister, disguised as a drink server and farmer, conducted the test. One young man helped in collecting cups and lifting a cart from the mud. Considering him the most suitable, the old minister chose him as the new minister.
