BTS Named World's Best-Sellimg Artist in

✋Article K-pop group BTS has been named the best-selling musical artist of 2020 by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI). Taylor Swift was number two, and Drake was number three. The top artist is decided using the total sales, downloads and streams of all their music around the world. BTS is the first South Korean artist to be world number one, and also the first top artist to mostly sing in a language other than English. The group was the seventh on the list in 2019, when Taylor Swift took the top spot. Released in February, BTS' fourth full-length album, Map of the Soul: 7, became the number one album in more than 20 countries. Then in August, BTS released "Dynamite," its first all-English song, and the group's first number one song in the US. In November came another album, Be, inspired by the members' feelings about the coronavirus pandemic. The album included "Dynamite," as well as "Life Goes On," which gave the group another number one in the US — this time with a song that was mostly in Korean, the first time a song in that language was at the top in America.
