You Are What You Eat

from Highland Gospel Mission · host Highland Southern Baptist Church

Greetings, and may grace, mercy, and peace be multiplied to you. We will be in John 6 today. After Jesus had fed over 5,000 men using a boy's lunch, some of His disciples only had food in their mind. Jesus' point wasn't to be fed physically, but spiritually. This is why they were really confused when Jesus started talking about eating His body and drinking His blood. Jesus wasn't advocating cannibalism, He was speaking metaphorically, and if we want to be imitators of Christ, we must eat His body and drink HIs blood in communion. “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28 19-20 Don’t forget to pray for one another, especially during these uncertain times.
