You Didn't Create Every Negative Thought You Have
from The Daryl Perry Podcast: Audio Journal on Mindset, Men's Mental Health, Cerebral Palsy and Fitness · host Daryl Perry
Who taught you how to see yourself? It's a question most of us never stop to ask.In this episode, I explore where many of our negative beliefs, insecurities, and critical thoughts actually come from. The truth is that a lot of the stories we tell ourselves today didn't originate with us. They were influenced by people, experiences, industries, marketing messages, social expectations, and countless outside voices that shaped how we view ourselves over time. But that's only one side of the equation. At some point, we begin reinforcing those beliefs ourselves. We repeat them. We accept them as truth. We allow them to become part of our identity. That's where the opportunity for change begins.I talk about the balance between acknowledging the influences that contributed to your self-image and taking ownership of how you choose to see yourself moving forward. Because while you may not be responsible for where some of those beliefs started, you are responsible for deciding whether they continue to define you. This episode is a reminder that you can question those stories, challenge those assumptions, and build a healthier relationship with yourself. The goal isn't perfection. The goal is learning to appreciate who you are while continuing to grow into who you want to become. As always, I'd love to hear your thoughts.Email me at [email protected] you're looking for a deeper conversation and more opportunities to engage with these topics, you can also join the community at https://yourlevelfitness.com/community.
