Your Future Doesn't Have to Look Like Your Past

When you stop and think about it, most of our problems in life don't just come out of nowhere. They're connected to a decision we've made, a decision we're avoiding, or a boundary we won't set. It's not fun to admit, but it's true. Antarctic explorer Robert Falcon Scott's ambition to be the first to reach the South Pole was legendary. But ambition alone doesn't guarantee success. He ignored good advice, rejected more efficient transport methods, overloaded his sledges, and pushed his men harder than was wise. They arrived at the Pole only to discover that the Norwegians had beaten them to it. And on the way back, every single one of them froze to death. Wrong decisions. No boundaries. And the cost was everything. Dramatic, yes … but a salutary tale about some of the bad decisions you and I have made along the way, too. James 1:5 Do any of you need wisdom? Ask God for it.
