Hey everybody. Good to see everybody today. Pastor Jeff and Farron Coleman here today with you and welcome to your harvest now. Wow, exciting time.
What a wonderful season. It has been. God has been giving us. We are so excited.
God's been doing some amazing things and we want to see those same things manifested in your life. We're believing to reach not only our city and our county. Come on, but we are believing to stretch this thing out over the whole WVLR viewing audience. That's right.
Stretch this thing out and let God move in your life. So I don't care where you are today. I don't care what part of the viewing audience that you are with WVLR. We invite you today.
Plug in with us right now. We want to go on a journey and try to help you be willing to step out of that boat. Hey man. You imagine, y'all know the story of Peter.
Peter's riding along in a boat. Storm's going on. Jesus comes walking on the water. Come on everybody's heard that story.
But I don't know if you've ever thought about this or not, but he had to be willing to step out of the normal into the unknown. He had to be willing. Come on. To make progress, he had to be willing to forsake something that he knew that was working.
I don't know. The whole thought process about stepping out of a boat just, you know, it doesn't really make sense. Not in the water, in the water, during the storm. But he had to be willing to forsake.
Come on. For sake, that normal place. Be willing to say, you know what? This is not what everybody else is doing.
Matter of fact, nobody else is getting up. I'm the only one getting up. I'm the only one going to do this. But you got to be willing to take that step of faith.
You got to be willing to get out of the boat. Sometimes, sometimes, it's really just the magnification of where we are, what we see that stops us from being willing to step out. But you've got to be willing. You've got to be willing.
The Bible says in Psalms 34, 3 through 5, verse 3 says this. Oh, magnify the Lord with me. Let us exalt his name together. Magnify.
Come on. Oh, let us what? Magnify the Lord together. If you magnify the Lord, magnification, the process of magnification is this what you do.
Magnification does not change what you're, come on, what you're looking at. It changes the way you see what you're looking at. It doesn't change what you're looking at. If you magnify, I had a magnifying glass and I held it up right now and I was looking through that magnifying glass at something.
It doesn't change what I'm looking at. It changes the way I look at it. If you're going to magnify God, you're going to have to be willing to say, you know what, God? Let me see you differently than what I ever have.
Make you bigger than my situation. Could you imagine Peter that day? He had to be willing to overlook the storm, overlook the fact that he was in a perfectly safe environment, a place that was normal. Peter knew about boats.
He was raised. Come on. He was raised in a family of fishermen. He had a whole slew of boats.
That's a bunch of boats in Tennessee. We call them slu, but it's a bunch of boats. If you don't know, that's a bunch of boats. He had a whole slew of boats.
He had partners. He knew about fishing. He knew about boats, but he had to be willing to step out of that common place, that place where most people would not be willing to step out of. That's right.
But sometimes we only base, listen, we only base the truth on where we are from and the perception with which we were raised with. He had not only be willing to forsake the normal, forsake the normal roofing, look in the storm, we ride in the boat, we stay in the boat. We don't get out of the boat. We, but he had to be willing.
Perception and perception of truth. You can't, can you forsake, I wrote this down. This is good. Can you forsake the normal place of being on the boat like Peter did and step out on the water?
Take, take, take that story when Jesus was with his disciples. He was sitting there and he said, look, take, eat. This is my body, which was broken for you. This is my blood, which was shed for you, drink my blood, eat my flesh.
The Bible said that from that moment forward, many could not follow him. Come on, because they could not perceive him. They left him because their view, their understanding, their, their perception, their magnification, their, their ability to see was blinded by what they previously had done. One of the strongest things that stops the next move of God, hear me in your life.
Sometimes it's the last move of God. Well, the biggest thing, sometimes we are not willing to move past. We have some encounter. That's what most people do.
They, they have an encounter with God just like the children is or when they were looking at the serpent on the pole and in the wilderness, that's a whole different message. I know, but they were looking at a serpent on the pole and they were getting bit, they were getting bit by snakes. So when they looked at that pole, that serpent, they looked at it and when they looked at it, they were healed from the bite. So then the Bible says later that they had to destroy the prophet had to come in and destroy the serpent on the pole.
But why? Because they were worshipping a previous encounter. They were worshiping what was created more than they were the creator. Sometimes if we don't watch it, we'll get in this place where we're not willing to move past.
We're not willing to progress or grow because we're not willing to change our current circumstances. We're not willing to move on out past what we regularly know. God is bigger than you foresee. He's bigger than you imagine.
Come on, he's bigger than that in your life and you've got to be willing to press past those normal places. You've got to be willing to move forward. You've got to be willing, new information through which would change everything from that point forward. New information.
When Christ told His disciples, this is my body which was broken for you. He was saying this. This is what he was saying. He was saying, look, everything you know about previous that was going on now has changed.
And from that point, some people said, we can't do this. 11 people in the boat with Peter said, we can't step out on the water. Some of the disciples that were following, said, we can't run with that whole thought process. Why?
Because they weren't willing. You remember Martin Luther, don't you? Martin Luther, he took 96 thesis and he put him up on the wall of the Roman Catholic Church. He put him up on the wall.
He nailed those thesis up on the wall and he totally started the whole Protestant movement from that place forward. Why? Because he was willing to step out. That's right.
He was willing to step out. Spiritual things are not carnally discerned. The revelation that God gives you must be willing to take a step. No matter if anyone goes with you or not.
Come on now. Pre-treat there. You've got to be willing to go when nobody else is willing to take a step. Somebody right now listening to me, your whole family around you is waiting on you to take a step.
Everybody around you is waiting. You know, it's just like a, I think about it like this, anytime we get new revelation or God reveals something to us, sometimes we are a little apprehensive to take that step. But could you imagine when Jesus was talking to his disciples, he said, look, who did him say that I am? They said, well, hey, you're John, you're Elijah, you're one of the prophets, you're Moses, you're, they had all these ideas.
This concept, this idea that they had who Jesus was. He said, I, okay. He said, well, who do you say I am? Peter said, well, you're Christ, it's not only the God.
He said, look, flash and blood did not reveal this to you, but my father, which is in heaven, he said, there's been something drop out of the atmosphere into you. It didn't come from your worldly, natural means of getting it. He said, I've revealed something to you and you, you hadn't seen it before. God stretched him.
God shifted his focus. You must be willing sometimes to answer when other people will not answer. You've got to be willing. Come on.
Just step out and move. So really, I've built this whole foundation at the beginning of this, this program today, because I want you to understand that you have to be able to shift the crowd that you're in. I want to help you identify and avoid toxic relationships, toxic relationships move you away from purpose, toxic relationships move you away from purpose. See, some people, when Peter started to get out of that boat, some people would have said, no, no, let's stay in the boat.
Let's don't snap out. Some people like those that left Jesus that day that didn't follow with him anymore, they couldn't get the revelation of take, this is my body, this is my blood. They couldn't get the revelation. But see, you've got to be willing to separate yourself from people who move you away from God's intended purpose for your life.
Somebody's waiting on you. Somebody in your family's waiting on you to take a step of faith to go in a direction that you've never went before. Somebody's waiting on you today. Also, toxic relationships, if you're taking notes, they develop an unhealthy dependency.
In other words, if you've ever heard anybody say, this is my better half. Now, I understand the thinking that that's a good compliment, I guess, but really it's bad preaching and it's not the reality of truth. The truth is, hear me. The truth is, you need to be whole.
It's too much pressure to get somebody else to try to complete you. Christ makes you whole. Come on. Christ sets you free.
Christ makes you whole. You can't allow someone else that way. If they leave, come on. If they leave, then you're not complete now.
So listen, toxic relationships are relationships that develop unhealthy dependency. If you are in a place where someone is drawing too much from you or it takes them to make you happy, you are in a toxic relationship and you need to release that. You need to move on away from that unhealthy dependence. Also, they interfere with defined assignments.
They become priority. If somebody in your life is interfering with you so much that they have become priority, you need to be willing to prioritize God's life, God's will and God's purpose for your life. A toxic connection is one sided. It's one sided.
Those relationships, they just take, take, take, take, take, take, take, you know, Pastor Fair, this fifth point, I kind of want you to think about and talk about just a little bit. Some people come into your life and they just want to reinforce those wrong behaviors. They can what? Stal out.
They can stop your destiny. Some people you're around now, they just want to encourage you to do wrong. You know what I'm saying? That is true.
And a lot of people that are, that have that toxic, talk, talks in their life, a lot of times they will, they will try to pull you down and make you feel less than them because they feel like seeing you trying to, to move forward in your life and come out of what you were in. They're just trying to pull you back down to, to make you feel, to make you feel low again. That's right. That's what they're trying to keep you there.
They're trying to keep you centered and held back. You know, some people like to be around like, you know what they say, Pastor Fair, they say misery loves company. If people are doing bad, if they're down, they like to bring others down with them. They want to bring other people down with them.
So you've got to understand today, some people are brought into your life. The devil comes, the Bible said John 10 10, the thief comes but what to kill, to steal and to destroy. That's right. That's right.
So you've got to realize today, the devil, if God can send people into your life, do you think the devil could? Absolutely. The devil could be trying to send people that are toxic in your life. They reinforce wrong behaviors.
Come on. They stall out your destiny. They're one side, they take, take, take, they interfere with divine assignments. They develop an unhealthy dependency and they also move you away.
Come on. They move you away from purpose. Come on. You've got to stay away from people that move you away from purpose.
If you have a Bible today, turn over real quick. First Samuel chapter number 10, verse number 10. And I want you to just listen, listen to, listen to a few of these scriptures just briefly. Samuel took a bottle of oil and he poured it upon and said he kissed him and said, it is it not because the Lord had the noity to be captained over his inheritance.
Now here the man of God was anointing Saul to be king. And verse number six, look here. And the spirit of the Lord will come upon thee and you shall prophesy with them and you shall be turned into another man. And when he got around the prophets, when Saul got around the prophets, he began to prophesy.
So what you've got to understand today, you've got to understand that not only can the crowd around you decrease you or become toxic, the crowd around you can improve your life and make things better. That's why I encourage people to stay in church. I'm not just talking about coming to our church. I'm not just talking about coming to our church.
I'm talking about staying in church, stay around people who are moving forward. That's why Saul, when he got around somebody that was moving in the anointing that was moving in power that was moving in the prophetic. He began to see prophecy flow out of his own line. So not only could relationships be toxic, but relationships can improve your life.
That's why the corporate anointing is so important. Absolutely. That's why two or three of you are gathered together in my name. That's why he said he would be right there in the midst of it.
That's why Genesis chapter 11, because they weren't too far removed from the power and the presence of the garden of Eden where God was. They weren't too far removed. He was right there in the garden with them. In Genesis chapter 11, they were building the tower, the Bible.
The Bible said that God came down to see what they were doing. And he saw them building. They were going to build all the way up into the Milky Way. And he said this about it.
He said anything that they've imagined together to do will not be withheld from them. He said, I've got to go down and confuse their agreement, confuse their language, confuse their ability to communicate, because words are for more than just communication. Words are for creation. So you got to understand today that your words are creating something in your future.
And when people begin to speak into your life and they're pushing you forward into your next and your better, you've got to be willing to hold on and say, you know what? This is a relationship I need. This is not a toxic relationship. This is not a bad relationship.
This relationship is going to help me. Surround yourself with people who build you up. Don't tear you down. Come on.
Find you a place. Find you a family. Find your group. Find your church.
Find somebody that will strengthen you, encourage you, build you up, edify you and love you. Get around somebody to help you. You say, pastor, I don't have anybody like that. Look, you've got to be like David.
You've got to make a decision today. David was in a bad situation. And the Bible said that he went down and they went down to Zick Laggon. The wives got stolen.
The children got stolen. Everything got carried away. The Bible said they talked about stoning David. The Bible said David encouraged him in the Lord.
You got to be willing to start with you. If you ain't got nobody else to start with you. But I promise you right now within just a few miles of your home, there's a group of people somewhere that are joining together, according to the Word of God, they're praying, they're fasting, they're calling out for your families. And they're there to edify you, to strengthen you, to encourage you, to lift you up.
So get plugged in somewhere today. This is a good place to watch, right now, right now on WVLR right here on your harvest now with Pastor Farron. This is good for you, but I'm going to tell you something. Nothing beats fellowship.
Come on, find you a church, get somewhere, get somewhere and connect today. Get somewhere and hook up with somebody today. Get somewhere where you can go hand in hand with somebody where you can agree, where you can love and where you can be loved, where you can be edified, where you can be encouraged, where you can get around the anointing and allow that anointing to come on your life. You remember that little woman who had an issue of blood.
I know you know the story, but I'll rehearse it because I only got a couple minutes left, but she began to say within her self, if I could touch the hymn of his garments, I should be made whole. I will be made whole. I will be made whole if I could just touch the on his garment. Now here's the thing about her.
She wasn't supposed to be in the street. No, she wasn't. She had an issue of blood. So the law said she was supposed to be separated from everybody.
See, she had to be willing to step out when everybody else said she couldn't. She had to be willing to push through the crowd when everybody else was trying to. The thing about Jesus, the really cool thing about this story was there was a bunch of people touching him because the disciples said when Jesus turned around and said, who touched me? The disciples said, look, everybody's touching you.
See, there is a touch that doesn't draw anything, but there's a touch of reality about faith. If you can hold on today, if you can agree with us right now, if you can take hold of this by faith and you can touch and agree right now, there is something powerful can happen in your life when you find agreement. Come on. When you find agreement, the power of agreement, come on, the anointing is transferable and it is tangible.
You say, Pastor, what do you mean? I mean this, what I mean. I mean, she touched him. The Bible said, first you come out of Jesus.
