Your Vagina Called... She Booked Therapy on Wednesdays.

from Becoming Her · host Jeanetta Bodie

If you’re new here—welcome. I’m so glad you’ve found this space. Empower Your Core was born from years of working with women who wanted to feel strong and confident in their bodies again, but didn’t know where to start. Pelvic floor health isn’t something most of us grew up learning about, and by the time we realize we need help, the options often feel overwhelming or clinical. That’s where this program comes in.I designed Empower Your Core to be simple, approachable, and deeply supportive. It’s not about doing more or pushing harder. It’s about making a small but meaningful commitment to yourself each day—just 30 minutes to reconnect, rebuild, and remember your body’s wisdom. Each week includes a 8-12-minute educational video followed by short daily practices like breathwork, gentle movement, and reflection. Everything is under 12 minutes and easy to weave into your life, even on the busiest days. One of my favorite parts of the program is the live coaching sessions. This is where we come together in real time—no pressure, just support. We talk through what you’re experiencing, celebrate progress, and hold space for whatever’s coming up. Healing happens faster (and feels less lonely) when you're seen, heard, and supported. My hope is that this course becomes a steady anchor for you—a reminder that your body is not broken, and that real strength starts from within. Let’s ride the wave together. My Love Letter To YouEach day of this program, I’ve written you a personal, intentional love letter—a reminder that you are not alone on this path. Within these notes, I share my own stories, struggles, and quiet victories, along with my deepest hopes for every woman who’s ready to live life on her own terms. This space is as much about healing as it is about remembering who you are and reclaiming what’s always been yours.Hi Love, The number of times I’ve white-knuckled my way through life is almost laughable. The other day, my husband gave me what might be the best compliment I’ve ever received—though it took me a minute to recognize it.We were riding down a rocky, technical trail—the kind that makes me feel like the biggest badass. After watching me tackle a particularly tricky section, he said:"I envy your courage. I look at the things you’re doing at your current skill level and think, there’s no way I’d do that."At first, I didn’t know how to take it. But then, it clicked.I don’t know any other way.I have been white-knuckling my way through most of my life—gripping onto control like my survival depended on it. For a long time, I thought I was an Enneagram 8 because of my intense need to manage my anger and the rage I felt when control was taken from me.But I see it now. Control for the sake of control was never the point. It was what the loss of control represented—the fear, the pain, the deeper wounds I wasn’t yet ready to face. For me, that wound was losing my freedom.I wanted so desperately to live a life without windows—to be boundless, untamed, fully in charge of my own existence. But in my fear of losing that, I started gripping onto everything tighter. I became my own cage.It wasn’t until I began physically letting go—releasing the fear, the pain, the anger stored in my body—that I started to realize something. My emotional pain was never separate. It was always waiting, just beneath the surface, asking to be seen, to be healed. And maybe that’s the real lesson.Sometimes, we think bravery looks like holding on tighter—but real courage? It’s knowing when to let go.So if you’re here, if you’re learning to release, if you’re feeling everything you once tried to control—know this:You are brave. I am proud of you. You are free to feel.Be Loved, Be Blessed, Be WellJeanetta8 Minutes of Pelvic Floor EducationMy goal isn’t to overwhelm you with complex science or give you a master’s degree in pelvic floor health — it’s to help you understand and connect with the body you already have. I’m not here to impress you with big words or complicated lessons. These short 8-minute videos are designed to actually serve you, not confuse you. You’ll find a mix of simple anatomy insights, breath work, meditation, and easy movements you can weave into your daily life. Thanks for reading Empower Your Core! This post is public so feel free to share it with a woman you know who needs pelvic floor support. In this Lesson:We focus on deepening your awareness of your pelvic floor through play, movement, and sensory exploration.Key Concepts* Sensory Input & Activation:Sensory feedback helps the brain coordinate when to contract and relax the pelvic floor muscles. Activation is like a light switch—turning muscles "on" and "off" as needed.* Beyond Kegels – Pelvic Floor Toning:Instead of just contracting (Kegels), a strong and functional pelvic floor must also lengthen and fully relax. Think of it as balanced muscle control, not just constant tension.* Holding Tension Awareness:Many people unknowingly hold tension in their pelvic floor, similar to clenching a fist all day. Chronic contraction leads to weakness and fatigue, limiting movement when it's needed.Empower Your Core is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber.Practical Exercise: Pelvic Floor Activation with a Block* Lie on your back with feet on a wall in a 90-90 position (knees stacked over hips).* Place a yoga block between your inner thighs closer to the hips than knees to engage the adductors, which support the pelvic floor.* Breathing Technique* Inhale: Expand and relax the pelvic floor (imagine sit bones widening like a jellyfish).* Exhale: Lightly squeeze the block and lift the pelvic floor (pulling upward toward the belly button).* Keep pelvis neutral—no tilting.Key Takeaways* Play with movement and explore different positions (feet on the wall, knees bent, feet flat on the floor).* Pelvic floor work can be integrated throughout daily life—even during activities like driving, washing dishes, or sex.* The goal is full control—being able to turn the pelvic floor muscles on and off with ease.Keep experimenting with your movement and breath—have fun with it!
