In addition to a number of public facing and scholarly pieces, he is the author of Before Busing: A History of Boston’s Long Black Freedom Struggle. In this discussion, we explore the nature of Black Studies inquiry, the link between Black study and public knowledge, and the future culture and politics of the field.
