El 13 de septiembre de 1994 se publico el tema “Zombie” de la banda irlandesa de rock alternativo The Cranberries, del álbum No Need To Argue. The Cranberries debutó en 1993 pero su fama mundial llegó un año después con esta canción, que se convirtió en la más conocida de la banda. Este tema que encierra un grave tono de protesta, habla sobre el conflicto de Irlanda del Norte, desde el Alzamiento de Pascua de 1916 y fue creada tras el atentado perpetrado por el IRA en la ciudad inglesa de Warrington en 1993, en el que murieron dos niños. Zombie tiene todos los elementos de un himno grunge. Guitarras rasgadas y un ritmo denso, acompañados del sello vocal de O'Riordan, la cantante, quien adaptó el estilo de canto tradicional irlandés a la onda desgarradora del rock de los 90. A continuación Zombie de manos del grupo The Cramberries.
