2 Men In Black and White: An Honest Conversation

We are several days deep into the controversy surrounding the Hakeem Jeffreies and Jred Kushner secret meeting and the fall out is obvious. First off, Hakeem was played because in leaking the story MAGA has gotten the Democrats unfocused for three full days. Instead of energizing a huge voter turnout, Hakeem is backpedaling and gaslighting. That is his fault. Not our fault. With 70 days until game day, the Leader should be laser-focused on the task at hand, not pussyfooting around with the opposition. Any sports fan knows that coaches lecture their players on not creating bulletin board material, trying to keep them locked on performance not theatrics. Thus, it is an egregious leadership violation to be the distraction and that is Hakeem. This is why he does not have the judgment or the court awareness to make the right play. Mark and Brock have bemoaned the lack of leadership on the Left for 18 months, but at ttis point would rather no leadership than a poor one.Please spare us the affordability sham as the reason for a clandestine meeting. Jared, nor Trump, care a lick about the problems of the American people. They are in this for personal enrichment. So Hakeem can save us the attempt at gaslighting. Brock finds himself shocked to agree with the take of James Carville who says the only time he wants to hear from Jared is under oath. We can put this issue to bed for now if Hakeem promises to stay out of the way, but he should definitively be replaced after the Midterms, Win or lose. He is not in tune with his electorate.Also, a sad RIP to Dolly Parton one of the great performers and humanitarians of our lifetime. She provided the blueprint for using one's success to uplift others in so many ways. We have lost a giant.

Obviously, Donald Trump is so desperate to address the affordability hoax that he is importing subpar beef from Argentina. Meat so unsafe that the China government has refused to purchase even with 1.2 billion mouth to feed, So, the lack of caring for the health and safety of the American public is surprising even for the Trump Administration. But the political headwinds are strong against MAGA as inflation has not been fixed as promised ot be on day one. The residual damage of the import decision is the undercutting of U.S. ranchers. Those Racist MAGA triple Trumpers are finally souring on their beloved Leader now that are being adversely effected. The recklessness of the Trump Admin on our grocery store beef aisle was only matched by that of San Franciso 49ers owner Ned York caught up in a mobile home prostitution sting. Mark and Brock see the arrest as fallout from the loss of Epstein Island. Ned York would have certainly been on the Lolita Express.  We will get to Deshaun Watson at a later date. The NFL has no bottom.

Mark and Brock are outraged for the secret, backroom meeting between Hakeem Jeffries and Jared Kushner for many reasons. First off, the only question Hakeem should ask is: Will Trump allow for a free and fair election and honor the results. If so, tell Jared to go back to the White House and get Trump to issue a statement as such. if not, there is no other topic worth discussing. If Trump will allow fair voting and counting, then Jared can reschedule a follow-up meeting after the Epection. At that point, Hakeem can negotiate from strength. But our worry is the topic sdiscussed were Israel and avoiding impeachment, and avoiding investigations and AIPAC money. And in wgat capacity was Jared attemding the meeting? He is not a government official. He is a businessman being $200mm per year by the Saudis. Is there any way he has the interests of the American people at heart?  No way. hakeem Jefffries showed weakness and dishonesty in taking the meeting and in the boilerplate statement released after the meeting was disclosed. Hakeem should be replaced by the Democratic Party. He should not seee a single day as Majority Leader. He is a leader of none. Certainly not the actual voters.

Of course, Gary is also a racism story. Poor and urban Black people are deemed less important so the response time unsurprisingly slow. Lives will be lost. Another example of America in decline. The podcast also picks up on the Nolan Wells saga as a microcosm of a country operating with two systems of justice and a social system that protects White behavior no matter how bad. This extends to the White House on a day-to-day basis and with the Epstein Files. The podcasts wraps up tying the Penn State cocaine ring as another example of White people expecting a system to protect them. It was a very bad couple of days in the United States with likely more ahead. Brock holds out hope White America's reaction to election interference in the Midterms could be extreme and confrontational, but Mark is not optimistic. It is almost comical to see Karolyn Leavitt resign just days after being left for dead in the decoy Air Force One purported to be targeted by Iran. So even after lying to the American people on behalf of the pathological Trump, Leavitt did not make the cut for the safety of the catering truck. Yet another discardable piece of the Trump one-way street loyalty pact. How it is that anyone who has observed Trump over the past 50 years, or the the past decade in politics, should know by now. There are no surprises left in the Trump playbook. As usual, the media still clinging to mainstream network jobs primarily MAGA owned simply normalize the mayhem. The real losers are the American people who are fed propaganda on a daily basis and the military troops who can't even be fed properly in a theater of war. The greatest fighting force ever assembled treated like hungry kids with free lunch cancelled at school or food stamps recipients kicked off their benefits. MAGA Project 2025 comes for everyone eventually. your loyalty to America does not matter in a Donald Trump regime.

We loved to see polls out of Maine showing Susan Collins down 8 points to the Dem Senate candidate whose name we can't even remember. He is the classic generic candidate who replaced the Nazi who was also ahead of Collins. Hopefully, the era of tired old hypocritical MAGA has seen the beginning of the end. Brock and Mark argue every Democrat candidate is electable this cycle. Simply not being a party to Trump's debacle should be enough. But sprinkle in a quality message around affordability and it should be game over in most places, even a few in Deep red country. Meanwhile, Iran plans to "Jimmy Carter" Trump with patience and egregious demands. They smell weakness and are going to squeeze America for all they can get out of this misguided war. As young guns on the Left hone a message unheard from the usually outplayed Dems is encouraging. Maybe a movement is underway.

It gets worse as the negotiations with Iran go backwards and Israel rebukes a cease fire proposal posited by Trump's team. It gets worse as long-term, the U.S. may lose it's access to Gulf state bases of operations. And it gets worse as our military appears ot be running out of ammunition making the U.S. negotiating stance toothless as stature on the world stage crumbles. But who else pays the price. The U.S. consumer which has no end in sight to $4/gallon gas. A war tax on the public. Go to the circus, expect the clowns. If voters don't view the November elections as a no-brainer there is little hope for America. Our racism can't run this deep and wide, can it?

The Heritage Fund Project 2025 initiative to cripple the Black community has run unabated throughout Trump 2.0. In particular, Black women, the most educated section of American society, has taken the brunt of the onslaught. Starting with DOGE stripping away tens of thousands of government jobs under the false pretense of eradicating fraud to the stripping of DEI programs, Russel Voight and his team have figured out a myriad of ways to cripple Black women. Mark discusses a Washington Post article highlighting four Black women with nine degrees between them all looking forward. "We Outside" has emerged the tag line for New York City as they continue the celebration for their beloved, but America is Outside and welcoming the world with open arms. The incredible hospitality Americans have shown their foreign visitors for the World Cup has been surprising and heartwarming. The American brand is soaring. The world has descended on the United States and the love it. every bit of it from Waffle House to breakfast burritos. All while our bitter, demented, hate-filled Mad King lies and bungles his way to losing the Iran War, But Americans are barely paying attention to Trump. He is as absent as MAGA hats as the multi-cultural Movement sweeps the nation. America has woken up to the fact that they are not a MAGA country and Project 2025 is just Racism and Trump is just a Loser. Hopefully, the wave is so big even the Left can ride it to political victory

Brock struggles with the question of whether the outburst of joy and togetherness In New York City is fleeting or the start of a cultural revolution in America. While New Yorkers espouse their diverse neighborhoods and multi-racial society. Of course, the challenge of the Knocks team to decide whether or not to attend the White House to meet with Trump. Mark argues the decision should be easy and expects an emphatic "No" from the players despite their owner James Dolan accepting the invitation. The contrast to a bumbling abrasive Trump is Europe and our masked ICE agents is stark. But Trump is shrinking in front of our eyes, His act gas worn thin, His Iran War surrender a national embarrassment. MAGA is losing to togetherness and Love. It is beautiful to watch. And should inspire a revolution in America. Stay tuned.

The days of attending any event and pretending to be non-partisan or non-political are Over. No one in America can pretend any longer to be neutral on the events and policies that surround them. Silence is complicity. But Showing up is support. Active, full throated support for MAGA and White supremacy, So if you attend a Trump-tinged event, you are a Trump supporter. There is no coming back to polite society. The crass slander of Michelle Obama by an MMA fighter was the lowlight of the night, but not a surprise and no walk back by Trump. In Germany, they would say if you are at a table with one Nazi and nine others it is a table with 10 Nazis. So we are watching closely to see who is complicit and who is active. There will be repercussions.

Brock argues this was not just an NBA Championship in New York City. it was a triumph for multi-culturalism. Community, friendship and perseverance. The energy and unbridled joy being experienced by the entire city of New York from diehard Knicks fans to those riding the wave demonstrates how much not just New Yorkers, but all Americans, needed the joy and the love generated by this basketball game. Like a soda bottle shaken, the city has exploded in appreciation for each other. Brock argues this is a seminal moment in America. The positive energy will emanate from NYC to the rest of the country. The 70% of America that hates Donald Trump will be unleashed to follow NYC's chant 'New York hates you' at Trump Tower. Look for the Democrats to pick up their messaging from the people on the streets on New York. Politicians don't lead. They follow the will of the people. Anfd the millions of people singing together will spread. America has tasted joy in its most important city. There is no going back from this feeling. The hate and bitterness of MAGA is officially on life support. America will no longer tolerate their vision of America. Embracing our difference will triumph over fearing them. The Knicks put the stake in the heart of MAGA. It's all over but the crying.

The Trump Presidency is in a tattered state of incompetence and failure. The Iran War drags on with garbled messaging and Trump attempting to lie his way through negotiations while being contradicted by the mullahs. Inflation hits new highs as the residual impact of the Iran War works its way through goods and services. But Trump applauds a "great' economy attempting to sell his distorted version of reality to an increasingly impoverished and skeptical country. Also, Trump tries desperately to be one of the cool kids inserting himself into America's enjoyment via sports and pop culture. All these attempts fall flat further annoying a populous in search of escapes from their declining quality of life. John Cornyn tells us Trump is facing a miserable two years ahead. Our worry is that Trump will be fine. II's the American people likely to experience two terrible years.

Kamala Harris loved the "we have more in common than what divides us" line on the campaign trail. Brock questioned it then and really questions it now as he embarks on a Deep South journey. The overt religiosity of the South is striking to a Northerner. The Trump billboards and "Super stores" where people buy Trump-adorned merchandise seems bizarre. The lack pf integration between White and Black people in the cities visited is glaringly obvious. The Right-wing news is everywhere. The people seem nice and friendly. The food is great. But it feels like a different culture. The South could be another country, albeit with the same language. The question is whether American ideals and belief in democracy binds us together North and South, Conservative and Liberal. Brock is skeptical as he travels to Mississippi, home of the Ole Miss Rebels. What were they rebelling against? Oh yeah. Me. The Northerners.

American society has thrown such different life experiences at each of them since their high school days that reconnecting to talk about these paths has been a great education. ICE is separating families, providing inhumane conditions no longer even keeping track of deaths in their concentration camps. It is totally unacceptable within any standard of reasonable conditions. But the American people are indifferent to the plight of immigrants. Too many Americans are indifferent to the suffering of others. The lost revenue will be astounding. Along with an international rebuke, MAGA Congress is showing signs of dissent against the Mad King. He screwed a bunch of them in the primaries and now they feel bitter and emboldened. Thus, Trump is slowly losing his vice-like grip on the party and the Resistance is taking baby steps towards a real fight. Reasons for optimism in the pro-democracy camp.

The replacements are even worse than the initial appointments. If you thought Tulsi Gabbard was dangerous due to her very close ties with Vladimir Putin, how can you tolerate Bill Pulte a home builder to run National intelligence. How can America garner any credibility or information sharing when the head of DNI has no idea about the job. One of the most important national security positions in the country. These roles used to be reserved for the best for the best. Americans could sleep at night confident the best trained and most experiences people were in positions of influence. But in corrupt Donald Trump world, loyalty outweighs expertise. And American citizens are less safe.

We review the utter lack of Exit plan and overall buffoonery of American aggression in Iran. Since no justification was provided for entering the conflict, the American people have no idea on the criteria for an exit. There is no plan so the situation lingers in a perpetual state of bluster and confusion. The state of affairs is less confused, but more depressing, The cancellation of the Freedom Concert is emblematic of a populous in no mood to celebrate the nation's 250th birthday. In fact, to most Americans, it is an embarrassment to face this is the state of the union after all this time. The next American celebration will be for the end of MAGA.

But then one by one they started dropping out having been invited to a 'non-partisan" event, but coming to realize this was yet another Doanlad Trump narcissism festival. Sure, they should have known. In fact, they must live in a bubble not to know. But in the end, the performers are dropping out because association with Trump MAGA is career suicide. When 70% of the country disapproves of an avowed White Supremacy Movement led by a known Racist you'd better be sure you want to be on that team. Just ask Jackson Dart of the Ny Giants. TV and radio host Boomer Esiaon is in his camp, but not many others. The old "I respect the Presidency" line falls flat. Associate with Racists and you get labeled one. So let's see if Florida and CC Music Factory hang in there at the Trump concert. Not sure who will be attending this fiasco. Just like the MMA fight at the White House, they may need to solicit the military to fill the seats. Because we honor our troops by using them as props.
