A Time To Sow

There is a time and season for everything. After a painful time of spiritual abuse, betrayals, walking away from things that I loved, and a long season of isolation, God started lifting up the rug in my own life. As I started addressing the root causes of many of my issues, it finally became "a time to heal". We don't have to stay in a place of hurt and pain. After Peter was sifted like wheat, Jesus told him to go back and strengthen the brethren. Use your story, your pain, and your trials as an opportunity to help others heal too.

Ecclesiastes says there is "a time to plant, and A TIME TO UPROOT". In this episode we shine a light on some of the issues that we experienced within a particular church setting. We share some of the hardships and effects of sitting under what I later recognized as spiritual abuse. At one time we had been "planted" but after all that I had experienced, we could no longer stay, and had no choice but to "uproot" and leave. While it is difficult to share some of these experiences, and our intentions are not to attack or air grievances, we share because we know that it will help free those who have gone through these same kinds of experiences - as others stories I heard through the aftermath helped free me. Jesus said, "Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."

"A time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing." Ecclesiastes 3:5In this episode we get honest about our history and experiences in the "church". We are lifting up a rock off the forest floor to peer underneath and examine the good, the bad, and the ugly. It's been a wild ride, and one that caused us to "refrain from embracing".

There' s a time to refrain, and "a time to embrace". After years of running and refusing to commit, God helped me drop my walls and let love in. On this episode, my husband joins me to share the story of how me met, and his heart on a husband's role in marriage.
