The finale built up to what many call the fight that saved the promotion with Forest Griffin vs Stephan Bonner which remains one of the most intense and high energy fights in the promotions history. You thought the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles block is over? Guess again, bucko. On this episode of About That Action, the Action Jox sit down to discuss the third live action installment to the Ninja Turtles franchise. This film makes the bold (often bad) choice to take the turtles through time to feudal Japan, throwing them right in the middle of a war and a raw deal with some unsavory British folks and if you think I'm kidding, I'm not. The nostalgia continues with the 1991 sequel to the cultural smash hit Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with Secret of the Ooze, where we find out more about the mysterious substance that created the turtles in the first place and how a nefarious villain wishes to harness it for his own gain. Despite the poor audio quality of the episode, the fellas from About That Action had a great time watching this much more light hearted take on a pop culture classic IP. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was a 1990 action comedy film that became a cultural phenomenon following the success of the cartoons. It not only smashed its budget in the box office but would go on to become a staple in the Gen X and Millennial pop culture zeitgeist, but does it hold up as adults? Unstoppable is number 2 in the train block and what a train movie it is. Denzel and Chris Pine race against the clock to stop a ghost train full of toxic chemicals from crashing into a small town in Pennsylvania in this (loosely) based on a true story high octane classic. Sit down, buckle up, tie off your air brakes, and join the fellas as they discuss Unstoppable from 2010 directed by Tony Scott.

Under Siege 2 is kicking off the Train Block on About That Action as a good ease off the Seagal block. Although Dark Territory really had no business being a sequel at all, it still provides just enough action to make it watchable. Steven Segal has been a household name in the action genre since the late 1980s. Hitting the film scene hard with several back to back hits, he earned his spot on the Mount Rushmore of action stars. Out For Justice was one of his first movies that propelled him to superstardom with unique fight scenes, funny dialogue, gritty characters, and heavy over the top violence. Join the fellas as they discuss this early Segal gem and find out if it gets the job done.

The mid to late 2000s was ripe with reboots and late age sequels to classic tv and film franchises. One such entry was the 2010 reboot of the 1980s action classic show The A Team which features a rag tag group of former Army Rangers dishonorably discharged from the US military only to form their own secret mercenary group. Featuring the likes of Liam Neeson, Bradly Cooper, and UFC legend Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, this reboot tells the origin story of these unlikely heroes. Stone Cold was an action movie starring former college football phenom Brian Bosworth as a police officer on suspension tasked with infiltrating a notorious biker gang. This movie had a fairly sizable budget and more than one face you will surely recognize lending performances that this film may or may not be entirely worthy of. Despite its unfortunate underperformance in the box office, this movie has tons of great action pieces and fight scenes good enough to get you doing push ups. Godzilla Vs Mechagodzilla 2 was initially released in Japan in 1993 and later in the US in 1999 and features the introduction of series favorite, "Baby Godzilla". With its low tech special effects and elaborate miniature cityscapes its hard not to find deep appreciation in the craftsmanship that went into the old Godzilla films, and even though the fellas have a hard time staying on topic, they all agreed on one thing: Its Anabolic. So sit back and hang with the boys as they discuss the 1993 series classic in Godzilla Vs Mechagodzilla 2. 

Pacific Rim is often considered the king of the giant robot genre. Debuting in 2013, this Del Toro action classic finally answers the question "What if robots fought big monster????" If you like giant robots, if you like giant monster, if you like Woody Allen impressions, if you like The Misfits, then this episode is perfect for you. Robot Jox was a science fiction/action film about a dystopian future where nations settle all major disputes with large scale robots piloted by a single pilot called "Jox". Without the luxury of CGI, this movie was forced to utilize conventional techniques at the time to showcase the fight sequences. Does Robot Jox hold up after over 30 years? Or does it crash and burn? Boondock Saints was a mid budget action movie that dropped in 1999 amid other absolutely smash hits like The Matrix, Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, and End of Days and follows two vigilante brothers in Boston exacting divine punishment on those they feel worthy of God's wrath. With heavy inspiration from Quinton Tarantino, this film was written AND directed by a complete rookie film maker. Bombing in the box office, it would come to find a strong fanbase through video sales. Does this cult classic hold up to its perceived glory? Or is this one action film that gets left in the alleys of Boston? Find out on About That Action! 

Briefing: 1999 saw several satanic themed movies just on the edge of the new millennium and one of those was End of Days starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. Arnold is a down and out former cop turned private security who unravels a sinister plot to bring about the apocalypse in the name of Satan. Does this movie save the audience? Priest was a 2011 comic book adaptation that didn't quite hit the mark. With its dark tone, pallid color pallet, and confusing world building it didn't quite strike a chord with critics and audiences alike. The fellas sat down to discuss what this movie did right and what this movie did wrong among many other topics. 2014 saw the release of a criminally overlooked WW2 movie about a tank crew fighting their way through Germany. Blade is an absolute staple of not just action movies but comic book movies in general. Without it, we would truly not have the Marvel Cinematic Universe we do today (for better or for worse) and the fellas absolutely loved this movie. Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters came out in 2013 to more or less middling reviews but the fellas think they were DEAD wrong! Sit back and listen to what the boys thought of this box office smash hit yet somehow criminally overlooked action/adventure. 

The Boys cover an absolute action classic with Highlander. Unanimously loved by all 3 of the fellas, this movie does not have the expected Goldie Locks scenario of opinions like we have come to love and appreciate. This movie is a banger through and through and even on a time crunch, they deliver one hell of an episode. On episode 2 of the fantasy block of films, the gang covers Solomon Kane from 2010. Although not considered a fantasy classic by any means, still an overall solid sword and sorcery tale of a former violent pirate turned holy man in search of a girl he swore to protect. Kicking off the fantasy block of films was Marsh's suggestion for 13th Warrior. A film about an Arab man living amongst Vikings and helping them to vanquish a seemingly impossible evil. This movie was overall favored by the group and now YOU the listener can find out why. Unfortunately for the squad, we watched Expendables 4, but luckily for listeners it ended up being a much more fun conversation. The final installment of The Expendables unfortunately crashes the plane after riding the high of 3 but the fellas' collective frustration shines through with one of the most EXPLOSIVE and CONTROVERSIAL episodes to date. The fellas are getting close to finishing out the Expendables block with a high point for The Expendables 3. Although made to be PG-13, it more than makes up for the lack of blood and guts with far more interesting dialogue and fleshed out characters. Action movies are often times defined by the villain and Expendables 3 delivers with (the otherwise level headed and kind) Mel Gibson as Conrad Stonebanks. In the follow up to the blockbuster hit The Expendables, they raise the bar in every way. The fellas absolutely loved this addition to the franchise and in a rare instance, is better than the original. With much more fleshed out character work, bigger action pieces, and a more recognizable and compelling villain, this is one of the best sequels to an action franchise to date. A four movie bullet riddled explosion fest that features the absolute pantheon of action stars from the 80s and 90s. Starring Sly Stallone and appearances by Arnold, Bruce Willis, Jet Li, and pod favorite Dolph Ludgren, this series really raises the bar and puts a nice bow on the action films of old. In 2006, WWE productions joined the war effort to put out a movie that would help the army smash through its recruitment goals for the year and that movie was The Marine (purely correlative). The fellas from About That Action join forces to discuss this absolutely bizarre "action" fest. With a complete script flip making JCVD's character the main antagonist of the story, we meet a new main character hell bent on revenge for the murder of his family. The fellas discuss the fights, the acting, and the somehow deep themes expressed in this underground banger. Though its a far cry from the original, this fresh coat of paint was well received by About That Action.
