About That Action: Squared Circle. Griffin Vs Bonner. Rampage Vs Silva 2. Josh Update. The Match That Saved UFC. Marsh Gets Serious.
In 2005, the UFC was facing serious financial issues and complete potential bankruptcy. As a final Hail Mary to get new eyes on the sport, they threw their hat in the ring during the height of the reality show craze and made The Ultimate Fighter. A show that would pit two teams of young fighters against each other in hopes of winning a 6 figure contract with the UFC. The finale built up to what many call the fight that saved the promotion with Forest Griffin vs Stephan Bonner which remains one of the most intense and high energy fights in the promotions history. Not long after all the way across the ocean in Pride, Rampage Jackson and Wanderlei Silva duke it out for a second of 3 times across 2 different promotions in an absolute clinch fest. Both fights are free on youtube and well worth your time. You wanna get pumped? Then hang out with Tom and Marsh as they do their first episode without the coveted Josh, and join the conversation (parasocial) on About That Action: Squared Circle.
