Sabine Tress | the Space Oddities interview
Words of the day: gesture. vulnerability. consciousness. Zero gravity. For this episode Sabine Tress returns to the podcast, from her studio in Cologne, Germany, to discuss the work in her solo show Space Oddities. Somehow I make my way into the mix as well. I did not know this interview would journey in the direction it did, it wasn’t until editing did I realized how these states were apparent. This recording creates a virtual venue where the show takes place for those who can’t make it to the brick and mortar space, and yet helps make it a show not to miss in person. Space Oddities runs until February 12th 2022 At Esther Verhaeghe Art Concepts Brussles, Belgium Please check out https://estherverhaeghe.com/ for more info! Andy Anello interviews Phillip J. Mellen 2016 | Unedited
The long lost Beige interview 2016 Hello listeners! I grabbed this audio from New Bedford, MA artist friend Andy Anello. It’s from when he interviewed me about the podcast at my home and studio. The interview took place back in April of 2016 and was originally going to be transcribed and published online as a text interview. So, it was never formally released until now. It consists of unedited audio, in a behind the scenes of interviewing type of state. The experience was helpful to me. Both personally, to listen to this recording and to revisit my thoughts and inspirations surrounding ahtcast, and as an artist. Especially because I have not been very active in producing interviews over the past year. Though I was nervous I really enjoy uncovering what ahtcast means to me in the somewhat real-time of a recorded interview. I hope you enjoy this unedited audio as a behind the scenes record of how interviews go before editing, be it audio or transcribed release. Also included is the portrait from the day of the interview of a heavier Phillip J. Mellen. I'm happy to say that I'm currently 30 lbs. lighter, but that is for another podcast episode! Here is a list of podcasts I listen to and inspirational people that had a hand in the podcast in some way: Kevin Fernandes Clare Price Clem Crosby Lorri Ott Final Friday Podcast by Greg Swiger (No longer produced) Studio Break by David Linneweh Gorky's Granddaughter by Zachary Keeting and Christopher Joy New Mediator by David LaMorte (No longer produced) The James Kalm Report by Loren Munk Since the recording of this interview a number of podcasts have made their way onto the scene. Check these out too: I Like Your Work by Erika b Hess Painters Today by Lucy Cox Sound & Vision podcast by Brian Alfred To list a few. Thanks to Andy for being cool about me releasing this recording. And thank you for listening.
