Proverbs 19:17 tells us when we lend to the needy, we really give to God. What does that mean for all our good deeds? Can goodness even exist without Jesus?

Proverbs 18 gives us A LOT of practical wisdom and instruction. You want friends? BE FRIENDLY. You want favor from the Lord? FIND YOUR WIFE. This chapter is getting us together!

God saw the bandwagon they formed. He saw the hate train. He saw how they mistreated you and He said it will NOT go unounished. We're reading Proverbs 11 on our Proverb A Day series.

I forgot to give the context of Hebrews 6:4-6: The author is speaking specifically to the Hebrew people, who are at the time having trouble accepting Jesus as the only way to heaven ( which you can read about throughout the book of Acts), so the writer needs to address this specific issue with them and give a different approach. That's why Hebrews might be a difficult book for us ( gentiles) to understand. The author through the majority of the book focuses one only one sin- not accepting Jesus as Savior. That context is very important to understand chapter 6.
