Institutions that once sustained our culture have become corrupt and depraved. Giant multinational corporations sustain our life, but also control us with a matrix of lies. Nothing is what it seems anymore, nobody can get a handle on who is controlling what. The population is growing uneasy, feelings of alienation and distress mixed with apathy are common. The light of freedom is beginning to sputter, throwing shadows on the future. The ideals of the past have become marred and blurred, the very purpose of existence is slipping into darkness. If this is how you feel, then what you’re feeling is…anomie. Anomie is a descriptor for both the phenomena, and the feelings, of a breakdown of standards, values, and ideals within a society.
