The Wedding in Cana
James White - John 2:1-12 - God ordained marriage as one of the very first institutions amongst men, and honored it by attending a wedding in Cana of Galilee in the Person of His Son. We will consider Jesus' relationship with His mother in this story, a vital topic when we seek to proclaim good news to those who have imbibed Rome's teachings on Mary. Next week as we finish the chapter we will look at false and true faith, and Jesus' teaching on real discipleship. "It is a high honor given to marriage, that Christ not only deigned to be present at a nuptial banquet, but honored it with his first miracle." (John Calvin)

Heaven Has Opened
- John 1:35-41 - We are in our series on the Gospel According to John. Today, we are finishing up chapter 1 and the introduction of the fist disciples called by the Lord Jesus. The beloved disciple has already pointed us to the profound realities of Jesus. He is God in the flesh. He is the Creator of all things. He is the Lamb of God. Now, John brings us further into the majesty of Christ by way of His irst interaction with the Apostles. He is the Son of Man. He is Messiah. He is the true ladder to Heaven that the angels of God cling to. Something divine and unique was present within Jesus and it was obvious to all. Their faith began and was only going to grow in strength and size because of the nature of the One they were now following and walking with. May God do the same with us.

Behold, the Lamb of God
Today, we are continuing our study of the Gospel According to John. John, the beloved disciple, records for us the initial words of John the Baptist regarding the Lord Jesus. He is the Lamb of God. He takes away the sins of the world. This statement of the greatest of prophets would have brought so many of the Biblical themes as a flood to the minds of the hearers. God had given His people many symbolic examples of their need for a substitute and a sacrifice. They were guilty. They needed a representative and a substitute. Their substitute needed to be perfect; without spot or blemish. There had to be an exchange of death. The innocent needed to be given for the guilty. Justice needed to be done. And here is introduced the true Lamb of God. The perfect, true, and final substitute had entered their world and their experience. He was finally here. His appearance signaled the fulfillment of all of God's promises of redemption. May God bless us with an understanding of this truth that will strengthen us, cause us to rejoice, and fill us with big faith.

Jesus, Full Of Grace & Truth
-Jeff Durbin- John 1:14-18 We are continuing in our study of the Gospel According to John. Today, we are in the end of the prologue looking at the profound truths that the beloved disciple wants the world to know about the identity of the Messiah and what He brings. He is God, at the Father's side from all eternity, and He is full of grace and truth. That is soul-satisfying truth that ought to carry us into delight and joy every day of our walk with the Lord Jesus. May we be renewed and transformed by what we hear from the Word of God this day.

The Divine Birth Given By God
Jeff Durbin - John 1:12-13 - We are in our exposition and series on the Gospel According to John.Today, we are going to examine a powerful and central theme in God's incredible story of redemption: regeneration or the new birth. Scripture teaches throughout (and John makes the point over and over again) that man, in his natural state, is fallen and spiritually dead. We are alienated from God because of our sin and we are unable and unwilling to come to God for life, peace, and forgiveness. However, John gives us a beautiful truth in the text before us. Our being children of God and our having a new birth is not something in us, through us, or because of us. It is solely a work of God with all of the boasting, credit, and glory to God Himself. That is a soul-satisfying truth. It gives us confident hope in our walk before the Lord and our future inheritance with Him. He loves us. He gives us everything we lack and all that we need through His sovereign will and power.

The Life & Power of John the Baptist
We are in our study and exposition of the Gospel According to John: St. John's Gospel - He Walked Among Us. Today, we are looking at the life and ministry of John the Baptist. John was a powerful and mighty believer. God gave prophecy concerning his coming and God used him to prepare the people of God as well as introduce Him as the forerunner. I pray that our study of John will empower us to trust in the faithful God Who keeps His promises and to live our lives with the same passion, discipline, and commitment as this mighty man of God.

God Became Flesh
-Jeff Durbin- We are in our expositional study of St. John's Gospel. Today, we are listening to John expand upon the identity of the One He wants us to believe in and have life in. John 1:1-14 delivers a potent and unmistakable message about Jesus. John puts a fine point upon his explanation so as to make it impossible to distort without obvious distortion: Jesus is the eternal God, always in the presence of the Father, the One in Whom life itself originates, the One Who condescends and walks among us to bring light that obliterates darkness. This is John's Christ. The True Christ. Our Christ.

John 1:1 - The Objections
Today we dive back into John 1:1, but since the Jehovah's Witnesses who come to your door often have pre-memorized speeches about the verse, we need to be prepared. There are a whole range of ingenious interpretations of the first verse of John's Gospel that have been suggested down through the centuries by those who rejected, for one reason or another, the over-all message of the Gospel of John. We will be looking at a range of these objections today so that we will be ready to "give an answer" when the opportunity arises.

Loving the Lost & Mission
- Matthew 28:18-20 - We are a Church that has from the beginning, had a devotion to reaching the lost. God has used our body to lead countless people to a saving relationship with Jesus. Our desire is to continue to give our church the hope we have in evangelism and to spur one another on to reach the world with the Gospel. May God continue to bless us with fruit from our love and evangels of those who don't know Him yet.

Christ the Wisdom of God
Jeff Durbin -1 Corinthians 1:18-31- I want to thank our Lord for the blessing, honor, and privilege have had in preparing and delivering messages from the Book of Proverbs these last few years. This sermon series was so challenging to me, personally. It was challenging in at least two ways: 1. Preaching through Proverbs is a very different preparation, process, and delivery than other types of books and letters in the Scriptures. Many Pastors have told me they have avoided preaching through it because of the unique challenges it presents in delivering weekly expositional messages through the book. 2. The content in this marvelous book is so cutting, convicting, and transforming it had to always be preached to myself before I ever dared bring it to you. I've been changed. And 1 am so grateful. Today, we are on the final summary message on the Wisdom from Above: Christ is the true Wisdom of God. May God bless us all to see this incredible truth.

The Snake’s Word vs. God’s Word
- Wade Orsini - Genesis 3:1-7 Everything boils down to God's word vs. Satan's word. Who will image-bearers believe? This very reality creates a war of truth against falsehood. And fittingly, it begins here in Genesis, the book of beginnings. May you cling to God's Word like a light unto your path and steer clear of Satan's word, as it is the evil way that leads to darkness. Christ, be our Light. Soli Deo Gloria!

Hell: Will The Lost Suffer Forever?
Brian Gunter - Revelation 14:9-13 - We worship an infinitely holy God who demands justice against sinners for their sin. Our doctrine of Hell even affects some essential Christian doctrines, so we must be prepared to explain and defend what the Bible teaches about Hell.

But For The Grace of God
-Ephesians 2:1-10- A deeper understanding of the Grace we have received in Christ enables us to be more gracious and patient. It cultivates faithfulness, humility and a deep reliance upon Christ who is the only fount from which this blessing flows. May the Lord bless His people this evening through His word and give us a more robust understanding, and appreciation of this glorious gift. This week at Apologia Church the sermon was preached by Wes Fuller from County Line Church and our partner in End Abortion Now! Soli Deo Gloria!

Yahweh Will Keep You
-James White- Psalm 121 is one of the Songs of Ascent. God's people have sung, and read, and meditated upon, these words for thousands of years. What does the Lord have for us in these words today?

Love, Spanking and Discipline
Jeff Durbin -Proverbs 13:24- We are in the final stages of our study of the Book of Proverbs, Today, we are going to meditate upon the many instances in the glorious book where God speaks to how we are to love our children with discipline. The world is broken and sinful. However, God gives us His loving instruction and wisdom on how to help to guide, transform, and correct the heart of a child so that when they are older they know how to walk and live in His world. I pray that God uses these truths to transform us all. Soli Deo Gloria!

Be Bold As a Lion
Jeff Durbin -Proverbs 28:1- We are in the final stages of our meditation upon God's Wisdom in the Book of Proverbs. Today, we will look to God's Word about what distinguishes the wicked from the righteous: boldness. The wicked flee and are cowards. The righteous are as bold as lions. Bold in life. Bold in death. Bold in conflict. Bold with the truth. May God, by His Spirit, make us bold. May God free us from the temptation to flee. Soli Deo Gloria!

Fear God. Not Man.
Scripture says a lot about fear. One the one hand, God is constantly calling His people to not be afraid, to not fear, to resist the fear of man, and to trust Him. On the other hand, God calls us to fear Him. Fear God. Not man. Not our circumstances. Not the future. Not any human being. Not what someone can do to us. We are safe in the Lord. Always, and in all circumstances. May God help us to rest in the safety we have in His sovereign hands.

The Danger of Ignoring God's Law
Jeff Durbin -Proverbs 28:9- We are continuing in our study of God's Divine Wisdom in the Book of Proverbs. Today, we are going to examine God's Wisdom and warning about turning away our ears from hearing God's Law. This truth from the Word of God is particularly important in our day. The theological landscape is filled with unbiblical views on the Law of God. Many are taught that God's Law is no longer an abiding standard for Christians under the New Covenant. They are encouraged to no longer hear the Law of God. It's imbedded in their theology and preaching. God's Wisdom says something so different. It gives us guidance on what our heart, mind, and ear's posture is to be when given God's instruction. May God bless us with a love for His Law!

He Is Risen
The Son of God is risen from the grave! Death has been defeated! Because He lives, we will live also! It's hard, truly hard, to express which point of God's story of Redemption is more beautiful. I struggle with this. And, that's perfectly alright. It's a good, necessary, and appropriate struggle. What can we explain the glories of more? The power and love of His death for us? The power and victory of His defeat of death? It's too hard to manage. How can we? Creatures like us will never fully comprehend the depths of both events. Yet, here we are. Once again, we will delight ourselves in the majesty of Incarnate love. The full stretch of incomprehensible wonders in the God Who loves the offenders with such a depth that He steps down to chase them and pay their debt. Before He drew us, we reveled in that debt and its consequences. Until that glorious redemption was applied. We are great sinners. Jesus, during this week of redemption accomplished, shows us that He is a better Savior than we ever are sinners.

Loving the Lost: Mormons
Jeff Durbin -Acts 17:1-17- This week will mark my personal 30-year anniversary of going to minister the Gospel at the Mormon Temple in Mesa. During that time, I have had the privilege of giving the biblical Gospel to millions of Latter-day Saints, face-to-face, and through the platform that the Lord has given. God has blessed the proclamation of His Truth and countless Mormons have come to a saving trust in the true Christ. We live in Arizona and have quite a diverse local mission field. However, a large portion of the community that surrounds us are Mormons. These people are lost and are following a false Christ, a version of Jesus that does not exist and has no ability to save. My passion is to reach them with the Gospel, the only one that truly saves. I believe that love for the lost will cause us to cast of indifference for the state of their souls. I believe that a genuine love for Mormons will lead to boldness and an effort to reach them in whatever way the Lord grants us opportunity. I hope to encourage you, today. I want to encourage you with the Scriptures and with stories of His faithfulness. As I always say, "God blesses faithfulness." I hope and pray that God would bless us as a faithful church that will reach this large community around us, leading to the end of Mormonism and so many Mormons coming to know the One Who gives everlasting life.

Dangerous Men
Jeff Durbin -2 Timothy 3:1-8- Today, we are going to address some of the prevailing sins of men in the world and the church. God created man. When He created Him, He called it "good. It's good to be a man (as my friend Michael Foster has spoken and written about.) However, because of the fall, men have to deal with and face prevailing sins amongst men. My hope is to address what Scripture says about these sins and strengthen our resolve against them. God sanctifies us by His Spirit and through His Word. May today's message do just that and may we, as men, be the light of Christ to the world because of that sanctifying work.

Dangerous Women
Jeff Durbin -Titus 2:3-5- We are going to spend two weeks looking into some of the common and prevailing sins that men and women struggle with as men and women. This week, we are going to start with some of the common struggles of women that we see addressed in Scripture. We're going to start with women because my hope is to end with the need for men to take primary responsibility for dealing with the sins of both groups. May God us this short series to sanctify us both and make us more like our Savior!

God's Words to The World
-Proverbs 29:18- In our study of God's Book of Divine Wisdom we are now meditating upon the role that God's Revelation has in protecting and preserving, not only our lives, but the lives of those around us. When we hide or don't speak the Word of God, the Scriptures are clear, the world will fall apart. People throw off restraint when the Word of God isn't given. May our meditation upon this truth be used to embolden us and allow us to be salt and light so that people will give glory to God!

He Will Wipe Away Every Tear From Your Eyes
-James White- Revelation 21 We look to the promises of Scripture about the fulfillment of God's great work of redemption in our study today. But our focus will not really be heaven and its joys, though we will surely make note of these truths. Instead, we will be doing a challenging study in how this text gives us a balanced, important witness to the doctrine of the Trinity and to the deity of Christ. We at Apologia Church take the Trinity seriously, and so today we will work to sharpen and hone our skills in understanding, and presenting, this beautiful truth.

The Sovereignty of God
-Jeff Durbin- Proverbs 16:33, 19:21, 21:1 and 21:30. The universe is busy. The world is busy. Life is busy. Everything is always moving. Sometimes it seems like a machine, smoothly running. More often than not, it seems like the parts are colliding and going off course. There are so many moments where it feels like the conductor has left his station and nothing is where it's supposed to be. That's what a fallen world feels like. Out of control. Out of place. However, Scripture tells us throughout, that God remains in control. He is the sovereign. He not only ordains every moment, He also sustains these moments and carries everything along to its intended purpose. This is wisdom. To know this and to live and rest under the shade of this truth. Soli Deo Gloria!

The Beautiful Gospel
Jeff Durbin -Romans 5:8- We've been in God's Book of Divine Wisdom for some time. It has been such a blessing and a transformative experience for so many of us. Today, my heart's desire is to focus our minds on the glory and beauty of the Good News of God. A love of God's Wisdom can only come from a heart that has been changed and a relationship of peace with God. That can only come in one way: the Gospel. May God never let our hearts stray from a passion for the Good News. The Good News that God loves sinners like us. The Good News that He has reconciled us to Himself. The Good News of Eternal Life. The Good News that we now have peace. Eternal peace with the God Who is Love. Sola Deo Gloria!

The Goodness & Blessing of the Law
We are continuing our study of the Book of Proverbs. Today, we see God's Wisdom that is testifying to what we see in the whole of Scripture: the goodness and blessing of God's Law. We live in a time with so many turning their eyes away from the goodness of God's Law. Unfortunately, both unbelievers as well as professing believers. Here in God's Wisdom, we see that God calls us to view His instructions in His Law in a different way. A way that leads to light and blessing. May God renew our minds and make us wise like our savior.

How To Answer The Fool
-Jeff Durbin- -Proverbs 26:4-5- As we continue our study and meditation upon God's Wisdom From Above" we are now in The Lord's instruction on how to converse with the fool. It really is a gift to have God's instruction manual on how to answer someone who has abandoned God's ways in how they think and speak. Today; we will listen to the Lord's Word on just how it's done and provide a number of examples of how to be wise in our conversation with fools. The world is filled with a lot of them so this should be good! In the end, this is light and instruction on how to reason like the lord Jesus and to think and speak like Him.

The Kiss of Truth
-Jeff Durbin- Proverbs 24:23-26 Today, we continue our study in the Book of Proverbs and are learning about God's call to speak the truth about the evil around us. We are called to abandon the commitment we have to our favorite faces (partiality) and to tell the truth about the evil or sin that we are presented with There are consequences for blurring the lines of what is actually true. Good ones and bad ones May God create in us a humble boldness and we shine the light of His Truth into the world around us.
