How Heavy are the Dumbbells You Lift? Ep 5 - What's Your Sports Day Event?
Welcome to Baka Bitches! We are two 30-somethings who REALLY love to talk about anime while we drink and hang out. We’ll share our opinions, both popular and not, while examining each episode of an anime series. Feel free to watch along with us each week as we dissect the classics and even some new anime titles. There will be laughs, there will be chaos, and probably some offensive language and sensitive topics so listener discretion is advised! When you're a high schooler there are all sorts of mandatory events the school does during school hours. In this episode, it's all about Sports Day at the girls' school. Lucky for Hibiki, she's been selected to do a nice little relay run. Obviously, that means some good, hard training at the gym to prep! Machio does indeed help all of the girls train for their sports day with the proper hamstring workouts, making sure they're nice and limber and lessen any sorts of injury that might occur. The only drawback is being heckin sore after! Will that impact Hibiki's relay performance? We'll find out in this episode! Want more content? How Heavy are the Dumbbells You Lift? Ep 4 - Did You Have a Nice Summer?
Welcome to Baka Bitches! We are two 30-somethings who REALLY love to talk about anime while we drink and hang out. We’ll share our opinions, both popular and not, while examining each episode of an anime series. Feel free to watch along with us each week as we dissect the classics and even some new anime titles. There will be laughs, there will be chaos, and probably some offensive language and sensitive topics so listener discretion is advised! Summer has hit and that means a few weeks off of school for a girlies...and also peak workout time at the gym which leads to overcrowding with sweaty, muscly men. Yikes! No matter, the girls press on and even meet Ayaka there who..apparently is going to teach a boxing class at Silverman Gym. That makes sense to let a teen girl teach in a gym. Yep. Checks out in my books. There's always some new moves to learn that make for top tier, thorough workouts no matter if it's leg day, arm day, back day..or any type of day. Let's learn some good stuff while some silly shenanigans goes down. Want more content? How Heavy Are the Dumbbells You Lift Ep 3 - Sensei's On a Diet, Too?
Welcome to Baka Bitches! We are two 30-somethings who REALLY love to talk about anime while we drink and hang out. We’ll share our opinions, both popular and not, while examining each episode of an anime series. Feel free to watch along with us each week as we dissect the classics and even some new anime titles. There will be laughs, there will be chaos, and probably some offensive language and sensitive topics so listener discretion is advised! Women of any age are subjected to body insecurities. We just can't escape it to be honest..and in this anime it's like we're back in the 90s with those body judgements from other people. Hibiki and Akemi's teacher is not immune and so she finds herself also at the gym and..apparently it's really embarrassing to possibly be spotted by students there too. WELL I guess Miss Tachibana is gonna have a lot of explaining to do in between reps and Machio training. Will she actually die from being found out by her students or is she just being a drama queen?! Want more content? Ya know how when you're on a health kick you exercise once, eat a broccoli for dinner, and then check on your progress the next morning and find out nothing has changed?! Yeah, Hibiki is doing that, leading her into a bit of a spiral, but with the help of Machio and Akemi, we all learn the way to balance out your food intake versus your workout session at the gym. We also get some good workout advice and a good swimming pool cut scene because why not? The weather is warming up after all, so gear up and find out ways to improve your workouts (and eat your protein)! Want more content? We're diving into working out. Yes, that's right, a whole ass anime about working out. Somehow Japan really knows how to make boring or strenuous things pleasant and entertaining. Anyways, enter Hibiki Sakura, our main character of this story. She's a high school student that has put on some 'weight' and freaks out about it and decides to make a change. Going to the gym. NOT JUST ANY GYM THOUGH. Silverman's gym where she runs into a fellow classmate, Akemi..who is more than in love with muscles..she's obsessed. With the direction from personal trainer, Machio -who is really weird on his own- the girls learn the best workouts for their goals! Want more content? There will be laughs, there will be chaos, and probably some offensive language and sensitive topics so listener discretion is advised! The gang moves on, stumbling upon a village that loves to send their kids to the sacrificial altar of a water god to save their village...which is weird since you're just...sacrificing your village slowly starting with the children. Not everyone is born the brightest color in the crayon box. ANYWAYS the Shikon Searchers decide to get involved to stop all this nonsense which was a good idea cause -shocking- the water god is not what he seems to be. Sango also reluctantly decides to be a plus one on this adventure since Naraku is just making enemies left and right who want to seek revenge on him...who also tend to find each other. Such groupies. Poor Sango gets tricked into using a shikon jewel to fight Inuyasha after believing Naraku that he was the one to destroy her village leaving her orphaned and alone. In the fray of battle, Sango runs on pure revenge and stubbornness, not minding the wounds she has previously received..that is, until Kagome uses her mouth to say words other than Inuyasha's name which convinces Sango that Naraku is the one to blame for everything. Kagome faces off against Kikyo with..words. No, no catfight happens but Kagome really does try to tell Kikyo that what happened 50 years ago wasn't what she thought. Unfortunately Kagome is not a professional convincer and Kikyo is still determined to get revenge on her former lover. Inuyasha who is very dumb does fall for it and Kagome is held an invisible prisoner, thus only able to watch helplessly as the two..make out and stuff? Idk, it's pretty wild even though the whole episode concentrates on just this scene. Want more content? We’ll share our opinions, both popular and not, while examining each episode of an anime series. Feel free to watch along with us each week as we dissect the classics and even some new anime titles. There will be laughs, there will be chaos, and probably some offensive language and sensitive topics so listener discretion is advised! Miroku and Kaede discuss the body deformities of their common enemy, proving that Naraku is the demon that was birthed from Onigumo's obsession, love, and hatred for Kikyo. Boy, therapy probably would have worked wonders for him but that wasn't a thing back then. Speaking of the priestess, the newly living dead girl, Kikyo has settled into a small village becoming a priestess yet again for the people living there. Even going so far as having the little kids help her pick some herbs for medicinal purposes and teach them what they’re good for. Kinda sweet really. Well, a monk has caught on that Kikyo is in fact not living at all and uses the souls of the dead to sustain her. Him and his young apprentices try to make her pass over aaaand instead, they get a real fight for their lives. Maybe Kikyo just isn’t her old self anymore. I guess dying really crazy-like will do that to people...doll...ghost things. Want more content? There will be laughs, there will be chaos, and probably some offensive language and sensitive topics so listener discretion is advised! Inuyasha is still fighting with the wolf demon of the forest, proving it to be a struggle without Kagome rooting him on. Kagome, however, is dealing with her own battle in 90s modern Japan..with the fact that she's obsessing over Inuyasha while on a date with the kind and popular schoolmate, Hojo. Obviously this means she cuts the date short and skips her angry butt back to the shrine and to the well. Shippo hops down the time machine well in his Fuedal Japan time with the Shikon jewel which enables our whiny girl wonder back in time..finally! Now that she's there, Inuyasha finds the strength to win against his opponent which makes Naraku appear revealing a secret that is shocking to the gang. Want more content? Inuyasha Ep 20 - Despicable Villain! The Mystery of Onigumo!
Welcome to Baka Bitches! We are two 30-somethings who REALLY love to talk about anime while we drink and hang out. There will be laughs, there will be chaos, and probably some offensive language and sensitive topics so listener discretion is advised! *Ahem* It's not like we've had a small break. No, we've been here the whole tiiiime doing the podcast thing. Where have you been, listener?! GOSH. Just kidding! Both of us were sort of dealing with our lives on fire BUT WE'RE BACK ON OUR BULLSHIT. Picking up where we left off, Kagome got purposely stuck in her modern Japan timeline thanks to Inuyasha kind of being a dick and blocking off the well with a massive tree. While separated Inuyasha and Miroku visit Kaede and get the history of a man from 50 years ago, Onigumo, even taking a little field trip to the place where he had been recovering in with the help of the then very alive Kikyo. Feeling a strong sense of evil demon presence from the cave, the boyos realize just how serious their enemy really is and the importance of collecting the shards of the Shikon Jewel. Meanwhile Kagome tries to adjust to normalcy, which she's not at all good at, and instead obsesses over what she's missing out on back in feudal Japan. Inuyasha and team face off against a wolf demon near the well that Naraku has given a piece of the shikon jewel to pump him full of power. Unfortunately for the usually docile wolf demon it made him sorta cray cray. What's gonna happen with this battle? Did this prove that Inuyasha was right to force Kagome back to her world? There will be laughs, there will be chaos, and probably some offensive language and sensitive topics so listener discretion is advised! When brother's fight, they really fight. With a newly equipped human hand and a ball of demon bees, Sesshomaru puts Inuyasha in a precarious situation. Gravely injured Inuyasha does finally get Tetsusaiga while the poisoned Miroku and Shippo take Kagome away to protect her from the ongoing fight. The tides may have turned but just barely as Inuyasha's powers pulse through his giant sword. (heheheheh) as the half-demon has more-or-less blacked out, thus warding off his older brother for now. Once the group makes it to safety, Inuyasha has a heart-to-heart with the spunky Kagome saying it's far too dangerous for her to be on the hunt for Shikon jewel shards and basically yeets her back to her world and blocks her from coming back. Meanwhile, Sesshomaru confronts Naraku only to find that his lethal hit landed on nothing but air in a baboon cloak. Will they partner up again? Will Inuyasha take out his trunk from Kagome's well? There's a man with a very unusual hand who has the power to somehow gravitate to attractive women's butts. His other hand basically has a black hole that vacuums up anything in it's path and who knows where those things end up. Either way, this monk guy travels around, swindling lords out of there money and possibly their women. Running into Inuyasha and especially Kagome...let's just say monk Miroku didn't quite make the best impression but he tells them about his cursed hand and how it was inherited from his grandfather who had a scuffle with a demon named Naraku. That's definitely not important or whatever. Want more content? What's a teen to do when they're stewin' in a big tub of leaf juice after being kidnapped when you're perfectly able to get up because your feet and legs aren't tied together? I guess just lay there and let the witch brew happen so that most of your soul shoots out of you and into a clay doll that looks exactly like Kikyo. Yep. Cool. Good effort. So anyways, Kikyo is here and Inuyasha and her got some unfinished business that stays pretty unfinished because she sort of falls off a cliff and stuff after she loses most of her soul back to Kagome. What do these things together bring about? Trouble. Soooo much trouble. A very scary lady with eyes that could see into your future children's souls has disturbed good ol' Kikyo's grave...which is just a plot of land where her urn was buried. Apparently pirate Rae decided that doing that instead of spreading her ashes would make the villagers happy or something. Anyways, she was wrong and now the ogre witch has stolen them and Kagome to revive Kikyo herself so she could do the ogre witch bidding like a slave. So that's cool and also the fact that with a revived Kikyo means revived unresolved feelinggggsssssss. Want more content? What's worse than being only a half demon in the world of of feudal Japan with full-blooded demons running around? Having once a month to be a full human that can't do jack about anything. Sorry, Inuyasha, you really do be gettin' the short end of the straw. First your girlfriend shoots you with an arrow and puts you to sleep for fifty years, then you gotta hunt down shards of a jewel your ex used to own (with her reincarnation no less), a brother who would prefer you dead, and now you got to deal with your own personal time of the month..right when you gotta clean house from some spider demons. Imagine being a little angry ghost girl and trying to kill your family because you were a regular snotty brat when you were breathing. Yeah, that's it. That's what this episode is about. A bratty brat of a brat girl gets angry at her mom when she's alive and decides to play a deadly prank when her brother resulting in her own death. Dark as heck, really. Well, now that she's an angry ghost girl trying to off her brother and her mom an entity has taken notice. This entity is said to play a soothing tune on a pipe/flute to comfort the spirits of dead kids as it leads them into the afterlife. Cool. What's not cool is that if a child is an extra side of angy and disrupts things, the entity's eyes will open and thus proceeds to open the maw of hell and drag the kid spirit in. So...don't piss this thing off. Kagome really tries her hardest to convince the angry spirit brat to maybe calm down..but will she listen to reason before it's too late? Want more content? Enter the Noh mask. After Kagome comes back home because she's got her SATs to study for and gets doused with sake thanks to gramps the storage house starts to catch fire. Luckily the sprightly old man starts to try and tame the fire that started by running in with a small bucket of water. The seals on an old box start to char off and the Noh mask is released. Think of this monster as a a cross between No Face from Spirited Away but extra cannibally and really high maintenance teenage girl. "I need a body"..."I need a human body"..."I need a living human body." Like damn, can you just tell me what you need the first go-around? Well, grampy ends up in the hospital because smoke got in his lungs and the goop cannibal is running amok trying to get the shikon jewels that Kagome brought over with her. Oops. Guess that was a mistake. Now Kagome and her little brother, Sota, have to run around avoiding the most annoying monster ever..that is, until Inuyasha arrives just in time to save the day. There will be laughs, there will be chaos, and probably some offensive language and sensitive topics so listener discretion is advised! The dubious Thunder Brothers aren't backing down as Hiten takes on Inuyasha and Manten starts raging at Kagome and Shippo after they helped his last head hair fall. Clearly this lima bean never heard the term "bald is beautiful". Unfortunately Manten goes into a murderous rampage because of it and ends up putting Kagome in a choke hold like Homer Simpson style. Inuyasha is helpless and can only watch since he's cornered by Hiten. Now enraged, Inuyasha yeets Tetsusaiga right into Manten. Now it's Hiten's turn to go ballistic as his brother is weak and slowly dying from being skewered like an olive in a martini. With a ruthless blast of power, Hiten obliterates both Kagome and Tetsusaiga before holding his bald-ass brother like a baby as he slowly dies and does dramatic things. Absorbing all of the jewels, Hiten goes pretty OP on Inuyasha. In defense, Inuyasha uses Tetsusaiga's sheath and surprisingly, it holds up, blocking Hiten's attacks. In the tussle, Tetsusaiga's sheath summons the sword back and in a surprise attack, Inuyasha is able to end Hiten in revenge for Kagome and Shippo's life. Getting a little too in touch with his emotions, Inuyasha gets a little blubbery over them, but was it all too late to say those cheesy word things? Find out! Want more content? Inuyasha Ep 9 - Enter Shippo... Plus, The Amazing Thunder Brothers!
Kagome and Inuyasha are absolutely doing their best as they're on the hunt to find the shikon shards. On their way around the country they run into a runty little fox demon who tries to swipe the bottle of jewels that Kagome recklessly stores in her bag. Getting caught and then hit over and over again by an angry Inuyasha, the young fox tells them that he needs to avenge his father from the Thunder Brothers...which sounds like a discount, off label version of the Mario Brothers. Honestly, these guys are pretty bad news though. Instead of saving princesses from big turtle dinosaur things, they roam the land and kill things for fun and throw lightning bolts everywhere. Did I mention they have five shikon jewel shards? Yeah. Two embedded in the naked mole rat brother and three for the handsome brother. They do run into these brothers naturally, and Kagome ends up being kidnapped to be used in a potion for the mole rat's potion to get some locks like Becky with the good hair. So will the Thunder Brothers make a Kagome hair tonic or will Inuyasha be able to save her in time? Well it would be a short anime otherwise. Want more content? Deciding to head outside of the village to find more shards, the dream team of bickering run into a young guy names Nobunaga and his weird ass looking monkey friend. Giving him some modern food to eat somehow unphases the boy unlike Kagome who demands an autograph from Nobunaga..like.how is she even gonna prove it's his signature? Girl, please. Anyways, it's not even Oda Nobunaga, so disappointment is written all over Kagome's face. It turns out this young guy is in search of his love, a princess who is newly married to the lord of the land...who also keeps ordering the young women in the nearby village be taken to his abode..and they never return! DUN DUN DUNNNN! Yeah, turns out that lord is a big ol' toad face and makes the women eggs. No, I do not mean he makes a delicious scramble or omelette. Naturally brothers brawl, throw punches, and generally annoy each other, but nothing to the level that Inuyasha and Sesshomaru take it now that the sword has been pulled from it's display pedestal..thing. With older, sexier brother turning into a giant...like..really really really big doggo, Inuyasha has his work cut out for him but with the Tetsusaiga in his grasp and wielding all that daddy power, he's able to hold his own and even cut off Sesshomaru's arm...err..paw..leg? Leg arm? Ah, either way, Sesshomaru is injured pretty bad and yeets himself from the fight to recover. Kagome and Inuyasha also jump out of the portal soon after and their dad's bag of bones goes on resting in Inuyasha's right eye. So alls well that ends well? I guess.. Want more content? Thanks to our new demon foe, Kagome accidentally falls her way back into her timeline where she proceeds to act totally normal and casual about it as soon as she tells her family what happened to her when she was missing. Maybe they figured she bonked her head really good and just humored her story. Still, she enjoyed some food with her family, a nice hot bath, no reports to the police that a missing persons was now found. Totally fine. Normal, even. That is, until a very angry Inuyasha purposely jumps down the well to go drag Kagome back. Successful as heck, the half-demon boy appears in Kagome's home in front of the grandpa, mom, and kid brother..which would solidify our girls' claims. Never the less the two of them head back in time together to face off with Yura of the Hair in order to get back that missing jewel shard! Will their battle come out with them victorious or...are they in a..hairy situation? huh..huh? Did you..did you get it? Hair..-ah, it's fine. Want more content? I don't know. Either way, Kagome finds herself face to face with a new enemy, a pretty demon named Yura who ends up taking a shard piece from Kagome before dropping her down the well. Now that the Shikon Jewel is out of Kagome's body and Inuyasha, the cranky half-demon dog, is free from his woody prison, he threatens to take the jewel for himself to become a full-fledged demon dog. What exactly the difference is, we don't know. He acts like a little hellion already. Brushing off his threats, Kagome proceeds to "protect" the jewel by letting it get in the hands of another demon..or..claws? So now they gotta go rescue the shiny jewelry. With the collaboration it goes very...disastrously. See, this silly teen girl from the modern world straight up shatters the jewel in the process and it's powerful shards disperse all over the place. There will be laughs, there will be chaos, and probably some offensive language and sensitive topics so listener discretion is advised! Welcome to a classic anime that we're so proud to talk about! A teen girl on the day of her birthday gets a sudden shock when she's pulled down the well by a lady centipede into a whole other era of Japan. An era of Japan where demons roam the land with little to no co-existing with the human inhabitants. Upon briefly escaping the centipede lady, she stumbles upon a being pinned to a tree with an arrow. This being had some dank, fluffy ears and Kagome is quite unphased by all of this, she couldn't resist touching, which...fair. Same girl, same. She's chased off yet again, this time by some angry, arrow-shooting villagers. Unlike the demon, the villagers were very successful at capturing Kagome and taking her to the village where she meets Kaede, the old lady shrine priestess. Kaede tells Kagome she's got to be the reincarnation of her sister, Kikyo who died protecting the Shikon Jewel. This is partly why the centipede nightmare is after her. Yet again said pest-control's-worst-hellspawn-demon attacks the village and in the process of running away, she runs into our sleeping beauty boy, Inuyasha, which quickly awakens because...girl that was his ex-lover in the past. Once released from his 'prison' he easily cuts up the creepy-crawly-on-steroids with the help of his new gal pal. So, clearly you can tell there's gonna be some great shanans and demon slaying in store. Want more content? This is where the our comedy takes quite a sharp turn, you guys, so beware there's sensitive topics in this episode. Finally all is unveiled as to why Tsukasa has been so withdrawn and so avoiding any sort of relationship. It begins with Anzu being approached by a woman on the street claiming to be Tsukasa's girlfriend but our girl channels her woman's intuition and calls this girl a sussy baka. Unfortunately this is where Tsukasa walks into the scene and all of his fears stop him in his tracks. Luckily Anzu is there to block this girl from touching Tsukasa and the two of them immediately head home and lock the door. The poor guy then begins telling his very scary story of accidentally interacting with his now stalker by simply trying to do a good deed. This started to go downhill quickly and escalate from her buying him clothes to her drugging him, sneaking into his room and putting a camera in it! This also caused problems between Tsukasa and his jerkface dad. Anzu, being truly a sweetheart comforted our orange-haired boy in his most vulnerable state, solidifying their friendship. Saki experiences this as her older brother kicks her out of the house while their dad works an overnight shift so he can party with friends. This prompts Saki, Anzu's best friend, to go pay her a visit and discovers the secret of Tsukasa and Junta living with Anzu. Being hit by a car is kind of problematic; being hit by a car that is owned by a self-absorbed rich kid is even more problematic. Mainly because he will think that you purposely ran in front of his car in order to get something from him like a dank insurance payout or....a date? Our new boy, Hajiri, or as we like to call him, Hairy Cheeks, is now convinced that Anzu did this to get his attention. Naturally insulted, our girl boss shuts him down, leaving Hairy Cheeks in a befuddled state. He's never not had someone falling all over him. Thus he enacts a plan to get Anzu to fall in love with him with bribery. Cats, chocolate, video games, oh my! However, despite an alluring attempt, Anzu rejects him still, making the young richie rich realize you can't buy someone's true feelings, especially when it's with daddy's money. Yaaasss queeeen! So he decided to take on Anzu's challenge and began working for his own money to pay for things that could woo her.....by working at her job with her. What can go wrong? Want more content? Anzu finds herself swimming in boyos and that clearly cannot do. In order to escape her new living situation, she gets a part time job at a convenience store. However, that doesn't fully save her from RiRi's plans to get her in a relationship. Tsukasa asks her to go shopping with him because he thinks that her presence will shoo away the oogling eyes of other women because he's just the cutest thing anyone has ever seen. RiRi demands that our curly-red-headed heroine treat this event like an official date otherwise alllll of Anzu's cat-related clothes will disappear. She isn't happy about it but she sorta plays along, even going as far as buying normal, non-cat covered clothes. The "date" is going pretty smoothly overall except for when Anzu must retreat to the lady's room, leaving Tsukasa to stand there being stared at and whispered about by some very aggressive ladies. Apparently baseball caps do not work as invisibility cloaks. As soon as Anzu gets back, saving Tsukasa from his PTSD episode and they carry on. With a human-girl RiRi, Junta, Tsukasa and Anzu together, they all end up having a delicious dinner at Anzu's home where RiRi encourages Junta to move in too. Anzu eventually takes her 'cousin' RiRi out of the house to 'grab some ice cream' and by ice cream, she meant that dang wand that RiRi keeps waving around. Victoriously, Anzu is able to ruin the wand by having it land in some dog dookie, making it a useless accessory. The following morning both Anzu and Tsukasa get confronted for walking together to school because that's just absolutely salacious and stuff. Deflecting, the two go about school but soon part ways after the school day is over. Home alone, our girl is bored and can't possibly think of any other hobbies she could learn, she goes to bed early. Awoken suddenly in the night she sees that there's a home intruder..but worse. Tsukasa wasn't having it though and leads Anzu away stating that he doesn't want a relationship and finds girls like that pretty annoying. Romantic Killer Ep 2 - It’s Time for Children to Go to Sleep!
We pick up again right where we have left off, Anzu taking shelter at a kid's playground after being run out of her home by a piece of cake (cockroach to the undisturbed) she yet again runs into Tsukasa who is on his way home. Being a polite gentleman he decides to walk her home under the umbrella AND take care of her...crawly problem. Upon the squashening's close, Tsukasa decides to leave, but RiRi has other plans. The rain turns into a dangerous storm that keeps them both stuck in Anzu's home. Refusing to play into RiRi's attempts, Anzu takes every moment to squash any romantic shenans throughout the night, opting to wear really unflattering jammies and play board games with our boy. After falling asleep together...awkwardly, Tsukasa wakes up to find that only his apartment got flooded from the storm..so, you know. He's gotta stay at Anzu's a little longer.Dangit, RiRi! Romantic Killer Ep. 1 - Why Is There So Much Legalese in Magic?
Welcome to Baka Bitches! We are two 30-somethings who REALLY love to talk about anime while we drink and hang out. We’ll share our opinions, both popular and not, while examining each episode of an anime series. Feel free to watch along with us each week as we dissect the classics and even some new anime titles. There will be laughs, there will be chaos, and probably some offensive language and sensitive topics so listener discretion is advised! Yaaasss! We are on a new adventure now! This one is full of classic tropes but with a twist that everyone can enjoy. When a teen girl is actually not like the other teen girls, life has a...funny way of intervening. Anzu is just a girl who has three true loves in life: Video games, chocolate in all it's glorious forms, and her sweet baby angel cat, Momohiki. Always prioritizing a video game binge with her choccy snackies and her cat by her side, a mysterious magical potato pops through her tv screen one day and flips her world upside down. Under the guise of the population in Japan on the decline, RiRi (the magic potato in question) spirits away all of her loves in attempt to make her fall in love. Purely out of spite, Anzu vows to not let the talking Russet have it's way by ruining any romantic scenario RiRi throws her way. Yes, we're really gonna be killin' romance here...but it's so..so good. Come along, babies, and join us for this new treat of an anime! Want more content? Ep 26 - This is Our Ouran Fair!
Finally we see some real feelings towards Tamaki from our girl, Haruhi. She's absolutely full of them. Jealousy, sadness, maybe even...warm and fuzzies? Either way, weird Opera Glasses girl has a strong hold on Tamaki thanks to the witch of a grandma that he has who promises if he follows through with whatever Eclaire girl wants, he can see his mom again in France. Lady Pastry pays off Haruhi's debt so that she stays away from Tamaki, her new fiance. There's heartache, there's horses racing against a sports car and there's just absolutely so much drama as these teens sort out their big feelings for each other. We did it, fam, we made it to the last episode and it's been a wild ride. Even though this chapter has closed on Ouran Academy, we'll be back for more to delve into another anime world! Ep. 25 - The Host Club Declares Dissolution!
The school year is near the end and that means..fancy events to showcase the fancy abilities of the students..which is really showing how they learned to boss other people around and pick out furniture? Basically they're proving to mummy and daddy that they can run the business later on in life. Naturally the host club is gonna host club but on a much grander, much larger scale. Not only serving their regulars, but the parental units..and that includes the host club family members as well...and boy are family dynamics complicated with these richy rich boys. Kyoya's dad is displeased, Tamaki's dad (also the principal/chairman of the academy) refuses to acknowledge his paternity on school grounds and then there's Tamaki's grandma..who is less grandma and more devil that crawled out from the pit of hell. Yikes! Let's unpack all this in this week's therapy session. Want more content? When two people love each other they get together and...make a host club?! That's what this episode is about, daddy Tamaki and mommy Kyoya coming together before starting their first year of high school and making a plan to start a club of their own. At first Kyoya's real dad demands he get to know Tamaki because of his family and how beneficial it would be to have him as a friend. Tamaki being the free-spirited boy he is is driving Kyoya up the wall with his silly antics and ideas but our favorite cool guy hangs in there because of the pressure from his father. We're just glad that we get to peer into the past and see how these two actually find out how to balance each other out for the better. Want more content? Ep 23 - Tamaki’s Unwitting Depression!
We continue where we left off, with Bossanova getting a good ol' gander at Haruhi's back. Salacious! At least boss-man's fears are put to rest that he is indeed very straight and his hormones weren't leading him wrong after all. However...this leads to some different complications. The gang of boyish charms force Bossy-boi to keep his mouth shut about Haruhi's situation. Still, this does not deter the young yakuza-leader-in-training to request Haruhi during Host Club hours. Tamaki is definitely having non of it, but instead of being overbearing, he begins to fall into a deep depression because his smothering ways have not wooed our lady-in-disguise and maybe she'll fall for this redheaded gangster. Luckily Haruhi says the right thing at the right thing, even though she stumbled into it saying it, giving Tamaki the hope he had lost and Bossanova a sense of relief all in one fell swoop. Yay. Ep. 22 - Mori-senpai Has an Apprentice Candidate!
What does one do when all they want to do is play some kid games with some friends but they have an intimidating face? They go to the other intimidating teen on campus (who everyone loves) and begs them to teach them their ways. Well, that's what happens to Takashi, anyways, as a gangster's son pleads for help to make friends so he can play kick the can. No, no, I am literally not joking. He mentions playing kick the can as much as I talk about my obsession with husbandos. This is an interesting episode that basically is a 23 minute episode about not judging a book by it's cover and we even have a return appearance from some characters we've seen before. Keep a keen eye out as we talk about this gruff boy just lookin for some friends. Want more content?
