"Count It All Joy: Rejoicing in Faith and Trials"

In this enlightening episode, we delve into the concept of joy and its profound significance in our spiritual lives. The speaker explores how individuals often mask their true feelings, hiding their struggles beneath a facade of happiness. We are urged to seek genuine joy, which is a true reflection of being in harmony with the divine. The discussion draws upon biblical teachings about joy, particularly from the book of James. It emphasizes the importance of rejoicing even in challenging times, highlighting how trials and tribulations test our faith and ultimately produce patience. This patience ensures spiritual completeness, making us resilient and steadfast in our beliefs. Listeners are encouraged to embrace joy as a declaration of freedom and release from past burdens. Joy is described as a transformative force in worship, a release from chains that bind, and a testimony to the new creation we become through spiritual rebirth. The episode is a call to celebrate joy as a lifestyle, a weapon of praise, and a testament of victory over life’s adversities.

"Unveiling a New Season: Embracing Transformation and Purpose"

In this episode, we dive deep into the transformative power of the Word of God and the Holy Spirit. As we move into a new season, we reflect on finding meaning and purpose in life by consulting biblical teachings and spiritual guidance. We explore how society often dictates success, yet true fulfillment lies in understanding and living out our individual purposes, with the Holy Spirit as our helper and guide. Listeners are encouraged to trace their issues back to their origins, face their problems head-on, rebuke them in Jesus' name, and replace negativity with the Word and worship—transforming their minds and spirits. We also revisit meaningful spaces and memories that have shaped our spiritual journeys, emphasizing how vital it is to wash our minds with the scripture continuously. Throughout the conversation, we discuss the importance of renewing our minds, replacing stinking thinking with faith, and developing a close relationship with the living Word. By doing so, we aim to become vessels of God’s love and wisdom, moving beyond guilt and shame to embrace the fullness of life in Christ.

    Barn Raisers 4/4/23 ”Good Friday”

In this episode, Pop describes to us the meaning behind Good Friday. Is it really “good”? He implores us to get out of the grave. God is good and so was the sacrifice of His son Jesus. It was good because God himself was in Christ reconciling the world to himself. Take a listen and be blessed.

  23. 7

    Barn Raisers 3/28/23 ”Flood Warning”

In this Episode, Aaron shares the importance of thinking generationally. We all believe we inherited something from our ancestors. How about the Holy Spirit being our inheritance instead of generational curses? Acts 2:39 is more than just a verse. It’s our way of life. Like the model laid out in genesis by Adam, Enoch, and Noah. We must break free from the curses by raising a family, walking with God and by getting ready for a flood!

  24. 6

Barn Raisers 3/21/23 “From Slavery to Sonship”

In this episode, Pop instructs us to live a life led by the Spirit. He teaches out of Galatians 5 in hopes that we will grasp what the Lord is trying to show us. We do not have to strive or try to make it on our own, we must rely on our Helper the Holy Spirit. We hope this message inspires you.

  25. 5

    Barn Raisers 3/17/23 “Total Surrender”

Launch of Spring Semester! Pop took us on a journey on how to live fully surrendered to the Holy Spirit. God doesn’t just want some of us. He wants all of us! He is a furious jealous lover and will tear down with wrath anything that hinders us from receiving his love.

  26. 4

Barn Raisers 11/1/22 ”Prepping for Expansion”

Are you ready to expand? In order to expand we must be willing to let go of our old ways. Let the new man in Christ arise and the old man die. If we do, we can receive the new wine the Father has in store for us. Repentance is not a religious duty, but rather it is our heart’s response to the jealous love of God. May this message bless you and your families.

  27. 3

    Barn Raisers 05/13/22 “Whole Peace”

In this episode Pop (Mike Rakes) encourages us to relinquish all our cares to Jesus and receive his whole peace. Be blessed.

  28. 2

Barn Raisers 09/27/22 “Prayer and Fasting”

In this episode, Pop (Mike Rakes) encourages us to receive and go on the offensive. We are challenged to live a lifestyle of prayer and fasting if we are to walk in intimacy with the one who loves us so deeply! We are no longer to bow to the culture around us. We must begin to see Jesus in others and draw it out of them by being a light in the darkness. We hope this message inspires you to be all he has called you to be. Be blessed.

  29. 1

    Barn Raisers 5/18/22 ”Playing Catch”

In this episode of the Barn Raisers podcast “Pop” Mike Rakes asked Aaron Powell to give a message. Men are often more likely to give than receive. We want to be Mr. Fix it. But when we can’t do it ourselves it’s humbling to ask for help. In this message, Aaron received a challenge that he felt led to share with all of us. We need to learn how to receive. May this bless you. Feel free to share.
